Eddie Hearn is not a big fan of the UFC — or MMA as a whole — in 2025. Hearn, who is one of the top promoters in boxing, got to talking about MMA during an appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show. While he admitted that the UFC is solid as a brand, he has clearly soured on the promotion’s product of late.

Jake Paul doesn’t see an issue with his upcoming boxing match against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. on June 28. Paul announced he’ll take on Chavez Jr.’s who’s a former WBC middleweight champion. However, he’s 39 and has rarely boxed, as he last fought in July of 2024, but before that was in 2021.

If Logan Paul ever competes in the UFC, he will do so with the confidence of Octagon announcer Bruce Buffer. Paul, 30, got his start as a social media influencer. However, he has some experience in high school wrestling. He has also competed in boxing quite extensively, most notably going eight rounds in a 2021 exhibition with undefeated legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. He also dominated BJJ specialist Dillon Danis in a 2023 exhibition, ultimately winning by disqualification due to his opponent’s unsportsmanlike conduct. While that’s the extent of his combat sports experience, he is also one of the biggest stars on the WWE roster right now.

Jake Paul is closing in on his return to the ring. Paul and his promotion, Most Valuable Promotions, announced they would be making a fight announcement on Friday. Yet, The Ring’s boxing insider Mike Coppinger took to social media to reveal Paul will return to the ring against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. at cruiserweight this summer. The event will also not be on Netflix’s as Paul’s last fight was.

However, the UFC boss has also been involved in a few projects that flopped, and his long-time nemesis Oscar De La Hoya isn’t going to let him forget it. De La Hoya, a former boxing champ turned boxing promoter, has been beefing with White for years. The former boxer fired his latest salvo at White soon after we learned the UFC boss will be starting his own boxing promotion with Saudi Arabia’s Turki Alalshikh.

It’s safe to say that Dillon Danis is not an overwhelmingly popular guy in the world of combat sports. For a period of time, his trolling seemed to get the attention of the masses. Alas, nowadays, that isn’t quite the case. Instead, he’s getting what pro wrestling fans may call ‘go away’ heat.

Former heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder is down for a meeting with Francis Ngannou in the boxing ring. ‘The Bronze Bomber’ hasn’t been seen in action since his clash with Zhilei Zhang last summer in Saudi Arabia. The bout was a must-win for Deontay Wilder, as he entered the bout having suffered three losses in his last four bouts. However, ‘Big Bang’ wound up dominating the former champion. In round five, Zhang landed a thudding right hand to put Wilder down for good. Post-fight, many called for the heavyweight to retire.

When it comes to legendary fan favorites in heavyweight mixed martial arts, Andrei Arlovski is up there with the best of them. He has enjoyed the kind of longevity that a lot of fighters can only dream of. He’s a former champion, and he’s fought some of the best to have ever stepped foot through the doors of the UFC.

He has fought the best of the best, losing to only Floyd Mayweather and Dmitry Bivol throughout the course of his illustrious career. Later this year, the expectation is that he will take on perhaps his biggest challenge yet: Terence Crawford.

The defeat was a particularly brutal one for Deontay Wilder, who entered the bout having lost three of his last four fights. Following the loss to Zhang, many called for the heavyweight to retire from fighting.

Boxing champion Terence Crawford and ex-UFC champion Kamaru Usman recently debated fighter pay. Ever since the UFC began growing in popularity, there have been discussions about fighter pay. While some have attempted to form a union, every effort has ended in failure. Save for a few stars such as Conor McGregor or Jon Jones, most fighters struggle to get big paydays. Some, including Kamaru Usman, have argued that the sport pays better on average than boxing. However, boxers obviously get paid more at the top level.

If UFC light-heavyweight Alex Pereira defeated Magomed Ankalaev earlier this month, he had some big plans. ‘Poatan’ is fresh off his return to the cage in Las Vegas earlier this month. Back for the first time since a knockout win over Khalil Rountree Jr. last fall, Alex Pereira finally met Magomed Ankalaev. The Russian entered the bout riding a 14-fight unbeaten streak, last handing Aleksandar Rakic a defeat last October. Ahead of the bout, the Brazilian was openly discussing future bouts against Jon Jones, and even Oleksandr Usyk.

Dana White didn’t respond to Logan Paul’s offer to fight in the UFC. ‘The Maverick’ hasn’t been seen in action since his boxing match with Dillon Danis in October 2023. That night saw Logan Paul largely dominate ‘El Jefe’, ultimately earning a disqualification win in the sixth round after a failed takedown from the grappler. Following that win, the YouTuber-turned-fighter announced his “retirement” from boxing. However, that doesn’t mean that Paul is done competing.

Former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson has paid tribute to the late great George Foreman. Over the weekend, ‘Big George’ passed away at the age of 76. A gold medalist at the 1968 Summer Olympics, George Foreman quickly found success as a member of the professional ranks. In early 1973, he demolished the legendary Joe Frazier inside three rounds, handing him a devastating knockout loss to win his first heavyweight titles. Just two years later, Foreman would meet Muhammad Ali in Zaire for the ‘Rumble in the Jungle’.

Heavyweight boxing champion Oleksandr Usyk is down for a fight in the cage against Jake Paul. It’s not exactly a secret that ‘The Cat’ is winding down his historic career. Approaching his 40s, Oleksandr Usyk is a former undisputed heavyweight champion and cruiserweight champion. In December, the Ukrainian boxer handed Tyson Fury his second straight loss, this time by unanimous decision. As of now, Usyk has no set opponent for his next bout but has been linked to a rematch with Daniel Dubois.

KSI and Dillon Danis will not be fighting on March 29. The two were set to collide in the main event of Misfits Boxing 21 inside the AO Arena in Manchester. Plans have now changed, as Misfits Boxing announced that KSI will not be able to make the fight date due to an illness.
