Heavyweight champion boxers Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk are now finally set to clash. ‘The Gypsy King’ and ‘The Cat’ were originally scheduled to clash in December. Tyson Fury was first slated to fight Francis Ngannou in Saudi Arabia, however. With Oleksandr Usyk watching on, the WBC heavyweight champion went to war with ‘The Predator’ last month on ESPN pay-per-view.

Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk will no longer be boxing on December 23 as expected. Fury and Usyk had signed on to box on Dec. 23 in Saudi Arabia for the unified heavyweight titles. It was a massive fight, but before that fight would happen, Fury was set to box Francis Ngannou last Saturday in Saudi Arabia in what many thought would be a tune-up fight.

Bob Arum, the promoter for Tyson Fury revealed the shocking payday ‘The Gypsy King’ will get for his upcoming fight against Oleksandr Usyk. Fury is set to return to the ring on Oct. 28 when he takes on former UFC heavyweight champion, Francis Ngannou. However, before that fight even happened, it was revealed that Fury signed on to face Oleksandr Usyk to unify the heavyweight division in either December or January.

Daniel Dubois is not happy about what transpired in his world title fight against Oleksandr Usyk. Dubois challenged Usyk for the WBA, IBF, WBO, IBO, and The Ring heavyweight titles on August 26. The action took place inside Tarczynski Arena in Wroclaw, Poland. As expected, the crowd was pro Usyk, as Ukrainian fans packed the arena to support their champion.

Oleksandr Usyk’s manager, Egis Kilmas, has taken a shot at Tyson Fury for fighting Francis Ngannou. ‘The Cat’ has spent the better part of the last year attempting to score a fight with ‘The Gypsy King’. In December, Tyson Fury scored a knockout win over Derek Chisora, prompting Oleksandr Usyk to take to the ring for a face-off. Ultimately, the moment was supposed to serve as a tease for an April fight at Wembley Stadium.

The Saudi boxing promoter revealed talks are underway to see Fury take on Usyk in the headliner and Deontay Wilder face Anthony Joshua in the co-main event on the same card. It also would not be a tournament, just two heavyweight fights going down on the same night.

Joshua (24-2) was returning to action for the first time since December of 2020, where he had scored a ninth round knockout victory over Kubrat Pulev. Prior to that win, the British champion had suffered his lone career defeat came at the hands of Andy Ruiz Jr.
