Dana White appreciates Oscar De La Hoya’s apology, but he’s fine not working with him. The two promoters have been embroiled in a heated feud for years. First going at each other’s throats as rivals, things took a personal turn in 2018. De La Hoya began promoting MMA fights, starting with Chuck Liddell vs. Tito Ortiz 3. In turn, White poked fun at the boxer’s addiction problems.

Matchroom Boxing’s Eddie Hearn has fired back at Oscar De La Hoya over recent criticism. During an interview with MMAFighting, De La Hoya claimed Hearn put Canelo Alvarez in a lose-lose situation by booking him against Dmitry Bivol. Canelo lost the fight in a bid for the WBA Light Heavyweight Championship.

Oscar De La Hoya is known for his legendary boxing career as well as Golden Boy Promotions, with both helping to make him a household name in the sport. His last official bout came all the way back in 2008 when he was beaten by Manny Pacquiao, but in September 2021, he was on the verge of meeting Vitor Belfort in a bout sanctioned by the California State Athletic Commission – despite many feeling uneasy about the idea.

He was supposed to return into the boxing ring this year for Triller against former UFC champion Vitor Belfort, but the fight fell apart after de la Hoya came down with a bad case of COVID-19. De La Hoya has now recovered from his illness and he is interested in stepping back into the ring in 2022. While he is open to fighting Belfort again, De La Hoya believes he has a better idea for a fight, a rematch against Mayweather.

UFC president Dana White and boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya went at it on Instagram over the recent Alexander Volkanovski comments. De La Hoya made a comment following UFC 266 last weekend to Volkanovski, suggesting that the UFC featherweight champion is underpaid. White did not like that De La Hoya made the comments that he did about a fighter he has under contract, and the UFC president shot back, suggesting that De La Hoya faked getting COVID-19 in order to get out of his Triller Fight Club boxing match against Vitor Belfort earlier this month. We all know that White and De La Hoya do not see eye-to-eye and this is just another example.

Boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya has extended a huge offer to former rival and fellow legend, Floyd Mayweather, for a potential rematch. De La Hoya and Mayweather first met in May 2007, with Mayweather winning a split decision that night to capture the WBC light middleweight title. Now, almost 15 years later after the fact, De La Hoya wants to rematch Mayweather. Speaking to TMZ Sports in a recent interview, the legendary boxer offered Mayweather $100 million if he would take the rematch against him. Triller’s Ryan Kavanaugh has confirmed that they are in talks to rebook Oscar De La Hoya vs Vitor Belfort for Thanksgiving weekend. De La Hoya was initially supposed to take on Belfort earlier this month instead of Evander Holyfield, but was forced to pull out of the contest after coming down with a serious case of COVID-19. Belfort went on to demolish Holyfield inside the first round in what many called a “sideshow” fight that never should’ve taken place.

Boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya has been deemed out of the Vitor Belfort boxing match, and Evander Holyfield is expected to step in instead. TMZ Sports first reported the news that De La Hoya is out of the Belfort fight, which was scheduled to take place on September 11. Instead, Belfort will fight Holyfield now, although the fight has not been officially sanctioned yet. Either way, De La Hoya is out of the fight and on Friday afternoon he announced to his fans he the reason he is out is due to COVID-19. According to De La Hoya, he is fully vaccinated but still contracted the coronavirus.

De La Hoya, who is now 48 years old, makes his return to the boxing ring next Saturday night when he takes on former UFC light heavyweight champion Vitor Belfort in a highly-anticipated boxing match between two veterans of combat sports. For De La Hoya, this will be the first time that he has stepped into the ring since he lost to Manny Pacquiao in 2008. For the past 13 years, he has been the head of Golden Boy promotions, but with Triller Fight Club holding events featuring veterans of combat sports, De La Hoya will box again.

Boxing promoter Oscar De La Hoya accused Canelo Alvarez of ducking Jermell Charlo, and Alvarez issued a scathing response to the accusation. In reply to a post on Instagram of Alvarez teaching a young fighter boxing technique, De La Hoya and Alvarez got into a back-and-forth argument on social media after the Golden Boy executive accused Alvarez of ducking Jermell Charlo. Not only that, but De La Hoya also criticized his former client for his boxing skills, suggesting that Alvarez leads his head up when he throws hooks and that he walks around the ring flat-footed. Alvarez was absolutely livid with the comments that De La Hoya made and he quickly fired back at him.
