Ever since his controversial win over Jared Gordon, Paddy Pimblett has had to face a lot of criticism. Many have decided to focus on his in-cage ability, whereas others have raised an eyebrow over his weight gain. Between fights, it’s been well documented that Paddy tends to balloon up in weight, even noting previously that he feels he has an eating disorder.

Paulo Costa has once again teased the idea of a showdown with Khamzat Chimaev after pulling out of UFC 291. Later this month, Paulo Costa was scheduled to go head to head with Ikram Aliskerov at UFC 291. Unfortunately, as per recent reports, Costa has had to pull out. Instead, Roman Dolidze is expected to take his place on short notice.

In the main event of UFC Vegas 77, Mayra Bueno Silva was taking on Holly Holm in a battle of ranked women’s bantamweights. Silva entered the fight riding a three-fight win streak and was a perfect 3-0 in the UFC since moving up to bantamweight. The Brazilian had won her last two fights by submission and was coming off a victory over Lina Lansberg.

Kevin Lee has no regrets from his UFC career but does wish a specific fight had gone his way. Lee fought 19 times in the UFC going 11-8 and even fought for the interim lightweight title. However, Lee lost that fight by submission to Tony Ferguson. Although Kevin Lee lost two fights to Al Iaquinta who was his rival, he wishes the Ferguson fight played out much differently.

Geoff Neal’s head coach Sayif Saud has taken aim at Ian Machado Garry over the t-shirt he was seen wearing at UFC 290. Garry and Neal are set to fight on August 19 at UFC 292 and at UFC 290, Garry was seen wearing a t-shirt with Neal’s mugshot on it. The t-shirt immediately got fans talking and to no surprise, Saud and Neal both saw it and the Fortis MMA head coach doesn’t think it was very smart of Garry to wear it.

Jake Paul is still willing to fight Nate Diaz in the PFL cage after their August boxing match. ‘The Problem Child’ has been out of action since his split-decision loss to Tommy Fury in February. That was the first loss of the YouTuber-turned-boxer’s career thus far. Following the defeat, Jake Paul signaled his next fight would be a rematch with ‘TNT’, but quickly changed course.

If Dana White ever needs to make a gimmick fight, former UFC champion Francis Ngannou is around. Earlier this month, ‘The Predator’ announced his boxing debut against Tyson Fury. That fight had been long in the making, as ‘The Gypsy King’ previously faced off with Francis Ngannou last April. The two heavyweight champions shared the ring for a brief moment after Fury’s knockout win over Dillian Whyte.

Former UFC light-heavyweight champion Rampage Jackson doesn’t care much about the Hall of Fame. The former champion has been out of action since a December 2019 clash with Fedor Emelianenko. ‘The Last Emperor’ wound up scoring a knockout win over Rampage Jackson that night, finishing him in the first. That fight was the last bout on the latter’s contract, and he became a free agent after the Bellator 237 defeat.

Michael Page is officially a free agent. Page has been in Bellator since 2014, where he participated in his sixth pro fight. Since then, he has gone 17-2 in the promotion and is ranked second at welterweight. However, following his 26-second win over Goiti Yamauchi due to injury, Page revealed on The MMAHour that he is now a free agent and is set to explore his options.

Lee’s most recent loss came earlier this month at UFC Vegas 76 against Rinat Fakhretdinov (21-1 MMA) via way of guillotine choke (see that here).

The heavyweight collision will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Rumors have been floating around about Ngannou’s payout, but regardless of what holds true, “The Predator” is in for a massive payday.

Istela Nunes didn’t have a great night at UFC Vegas 77. Nunes took on Viktoriya Dudakova on the preliminary portion of the card. Early in the round, Dudakova went for a takedown. Istela Nunes was falling to the mat and tried to use her arm to minimize the impact. Instead, Nunes’ arm bent backwards and she was screaming in pain. The bout was stopped and Dudakova was awarded the TKO win.
