The middleweight gold was at stake, and “Borz” left no doubt that he was the rightful winner. After securing nearly 22 minutes of total control, Chimaev was awarded the clear unanimous decision victory.

The Octagon returned to Louisian for tonight’s UFC 318 event, and five fighters walked away with performance bonuses. This evening’s pay-per-view fight card was headlined by a trilogy match between Dustin Poirier and Max Holloway for the promotion’s BMF title. The highly anticipated contest proved to be the thrilling back and forth war that most fans were hoping for. Although Holloway got the best of Poirier early, ‘The Diamond’ was able to battle back scoring a knockdown and some stellar moments of his own. However, after 25 minutes of action, it was clear that ‘Blessed’ had finally got the best of ‘The Diamond’ and went on to be awarded a much-deserved unanimous decision win.

Vettori (19-9-1 MMA) will enter the bout with hopes of snapping a two-fight losing skid. ‘The Italian Dream’ is coming off back-to-back unanimous decision losses to Roman Dolidze and Jared Cannonier in his most recent Octagon appearances. The former title challenger earned his most recent win back in March of 2023.

Allen felt the headache was suspicious given that both he and Moicano were facing French fighters.

It was recently announced that Benoit Saint-Denis will be taking on Renato Moicano in a five-round fight, which will likely serve as the main event. With that bout expected serve as the event headliner, Allen says he is no longer interested in fighting Imavov in Paris, as he wants to be showcased in a main event setting.
