What's next for Brendan Allen and Chris Curtis after UFC Vegas 90?

In the main event of UFC Vegas 90, a rematch of top-15 middleweights went down as Brendan Allen took on Chris Curtis. Allen entered the fight on a six-fight winning streak as his last loss was back in 2021 when he suffered a knockout loss to Curtis. Curtis, meanwhile, was coming off a split-decision win over Marc-Andre Barriault in January to return to the win column.

Marvin Vettori was not impressed that Brendan Allen called for a title shot following his win in tonight’s UFC Vegas 90 main event. Vettori (19-7-1 MMA) was of course originally slated to face Allen (24-5 MMA) in tonight’s UFC headliner but was forced to withdraw from the contest less than a month out due to an injury.

Allen is set to headline UFC Vegas 90 on Saturday when he takes on Curtis, who took the fight on short notice, this after Marvin Vettori was forced to withdraw from the bout due to an injury. Although Allen is fighting down in the rankings, it’s a chance for him to avenge a loss as he suffered a second-round TKO loss to Curtis back in 2021.

Marvin Vettori has a message for Brendan Allen after being forced off their planned UFC Vegas 90 main event. Vettori suffered an injury, and it’s something he called a “freak accident.” Vettori ended up being replaced by Chris Curtis. While the one-time UFC middleweight title challenger won’t be facing Brendan Allen on April 6, he says he wants the fight once he’s healthy enough to return to the Octagon.

Marvin Vettori will no longer be fighting Brendan Allen. Vettori and Allen were set to headline UFC Vegas 90 on April 6 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. However, less than a month out from the fight, it was revealed the Italian is out of the bout. The news was first reported by David Van Auken.

Marvin Vettori is set to take on streaking UFC middleweight contender Brendan Allen this coming April. ‘The Italian Dream’ (19-7 MMA) last fought and lost to Jared Cannonier (17-6 MMA) by unanimous decision in June of 2023. With that loss Vettori is 3-3 in his last 6 fights in the Octagon. Vettori, 30, most recent unanimous decision victories have come against Roman Dolidze (12-2 MMA), Paulo Costa (14-2 MMA) and Kevin Holland (25-10 MMA).
