Of course, Edwards is seen as the favorite by many, but Muhammad appears to be feeling pretty confident in himself.

As we know, the working relationship between USADA and UFC came to an end before the start of 2024. It appeared as if there were some real disagreements between the two parties and, ultimately, it was deemed that they could no longer continue on the path they were on.

While it would be easy for them to try and avoid one another, it appears as if they’re doing the exact opposite.

Jake Paul has explained why he decided to call out UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira after defeating Mike Perry. After Paul earned a sixth-round TKO finish over Perry in Tampa this past Saturday, he issued a challenge to “Poatan.” Pereira is under UFC contract, making this matchup highly unlikely.

UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira wasted little time getting in contact with Jake Paul following a callout. Paul went one-on-one with former UFC fighter Mike Perry in a boxing match. Paul was simply too skilled in the sweet science for Perry to handle. “Platinum” kept getting popped with the jab and ate plenty of power shots from his opponent. Perry was knocked down several times before the referee decided to call the fight in the sixth round.

The Octagon returned to the Nevada for tonight’s UFC Vegas 94 event, an eleven-bout fight card headlined by Amanda Lemos vs. Virna Jandiroba. The highly anticipated women’s strawweight main event resulted in a beautiful second round submission victory for Virna Jandiroba. The Brazilian was able to complete an awesome transition that saw her move from a choke to a deep armbar. She cranked the hold and Amanda Lemos had no choice but to tapout (see that here).

A highly anticipated welterweight bout between Nick Diaz and Vicente Luque has been removed from next month’s UFC Abu Dhabi event. Diaz (26-10 MMA) and Luque (22-10 MMA) were slated to collide on August 3rd at the Etihad Arena. However, during tonight’s UFC Vegas 94 broadcast it was announced that the bout is now postponed due to “travel issues”.

Lemos (14-3 MMA) last fought and defeated Mackenzie Dern (13-5 MMA) this past February at UFC 298. That victory of course was preceded by a unanimous decision loss to Zheng Weili at UFC 292.

As we know, Khamzat Chimaev is one of the most exciting fighters in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. However, as we also know, he’s been pretty inactive over the course of the last few years. Following on from his narrow win over Kamaru Usman, the expectation was that he’d return to action at UFC Saudi Arabia against Robert Whittaker.

UFC commentator John Gooden believes Jon Jones needs to acknowledge Tom Aspinall if he defeats Curtis Blaydes at UFC 304. Following his 37th birthday, Jon Jones appears to be gearing up for a return in November. When he does get back in the cage, it’ll likely be to defend his UFC heavyweight championship against Stipe Miocic.

He’s a two-weight UFC champion, he’s beaten some of the best welterweights ever, and he was a consistent force in the 170-pound division for years.

UFC bantamweight prospect Raul Rosas Jr. will face another proven veteran for his next Octagon challenge at UFC 306. According to Rosas’s management, Iridium Sports Agency, he has signed the dotted line to face Aoriqileng at UFC 306 on September 14. UFC 306 will be the UFC’s one-off event at the Las Vegas Sphere venue.

Former UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling has announced his Octagon comeback for a showdown against another top featherweight contender. Sterling hasn’t fought since a unanimous decision win over Calvin Kattar at UFC 300 in April. He opted to transition full-time from bantamweight to featherweight following a knockout loss to Sean O’Malley at UFC 292.

UFC middleweight contender Khamzat Chimaev wants fans to know that he can fight in America. ‘Borz’ has been out of the cage since a majority decision victory over Kamaru Usman last October. The bout was labeled as a title eliminator heading into the matchup, but Khamzat Chimaev didn’t receive a title shot afterward. Instead, the middleweight contender was booked opposite Robert Whittaker for a Saudi Arabia fight night last month.

Bellator champion Cris Cyborg is down for a move to the UFC to finally fight Kayla Harrison. The Judoka famously debuted in the promotion in April, fighting Holly Holm at UFC 300. The bout was Kayla Harrison’s first outside of the PFL, and ‘The Preacher’s Daughter’ was her first test. Ultimately, she passed the test with flying colors. Harrison dominated the former champion, ultimately scoring a second-round stoppage victory.

Holobaugh dropped a decision to Trey Ogden back in March and now four months later he gets to return at UFC Vegas 94 against Kaynan Kruschewsky.
