Max Holloway believes UFC light-heavyweight champion Alex Pereira is likely 2024’s Fighter of the Year. ‘Blessed’ is set to return in the main event of UFC 308 later this month in Abu Dhabi. Back for the first time since a knockout win over Justin Gaethje in April, Max Holloway will return to featherweight to face Ilia Topuria. ‘El Matador’ famously won 145-pound gold in February with a stoppage victory over Alexander Volkanovski.

In the co-main event of UFC 304, Tom Aspinall handed Curtis Blaydes a first-round knockout loss. Following the victory, the interim champion called out Jon Jones in his post-fight interview. However, his plea went unheard.

A UFC bantamweight headliner between contenders Umar Nurmagomedov and Song Yadong is reportedly in the works for the promotion’s return to Tampa, FL in December. MMA journalist Ariel Helwani reported Thursday that while contracts haven’t been signed, the UFC plans to book the matchup for December 14th. Neither Nurmagomedov nor Yadong have confirmed the reports of the targeted UFC Tampa booking, as of this writing.

After nearly finishing Pereira in the opening rounds, Pereira put a torrid pace on Rountree as the fight went on, battering him and finishing him in Round 4.
