One well-known MMA figure and pioneer believes Michael Chandler has seen better days in pro MMA competition. Chandler returned to the Octagon after two years of inactivity at UFC 309. He took on former UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira in a rematch. Chandler struggling with the grappling of “do Bronx,” but he did have a late surge and almost finished his opponent. Ultimately, Oliveira won the fight via unanimous decision, but fans inside Madison Square Garden cheered “Iron” for his efforts late in the fight.

Leon Edwards says he’s on the road to reaching his goal of becoming a two-time UFC champion. Edwards lost the welterweight gold against Belal Muhammad back in July. “Rocky” struggled with Muhammad’s pressure and grappling, leading to a unanimous decision loss. It was Edwards’ first defeat since late 2015.

UFC star Umar Nurmagomedov has issued a warning to Merab Dvalishvili as talk of a fight between them continues. As we know, Umar Nurmagomedov is seen as the number one contender at bantamweight in the eyes of many. The champion, meanwhile, Merab Dvalishvili, is more interested in taking on Petr Yan. As of this writing, it’s not quite clear as to who is going to get the next crack at the 135 pound belt.

UFC bantamweight champion Merab Dvalishvili has challenged Petr Yan to a rematch at UFC 313 in March 2025. Last weekend, Petr Yan made a statement. He defeated Deiveson Figueiredo and in doing so, put himself firmly back in the title picture at bantamweight. Of course, as many people know, he’s fought Merab Dvalishvili before. On that occasion, Dvalishvili was able to totally control Yan with his relentless pace and style, earning a fantastic and dominant victory in the process.

UFC star Carlos Ulberg has an interesting idea in mind for his next fight as he continues to climb up the rankings. Following his win over Volkan Oezdemir last weekend, Carlos Ulberg is looking like a real contender at 205 pounds. While he isn’t quite at the point of a title shot yet, it certainly seems as if he’s only one or two more emphatic wins away from making a claim. With that being said, he needs to find the right dance partner for his next opponent.

Jon Jones has said he’s already in negotiations with the Ultimate Fighting Championship over his next fight. Earlier this month, Jon Jones defeated Stipe Miocic to retain his UFC heavyweight championship. He did so fairly emphatically, reaffirming to many that he is still the greatest of all time. Of course, ever since then, fans have been wondering what’s going to be next for ‘Bones’ in the world of mixed martial arts.

UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev has hit out at Conor McGregor following the latter’s recent loss in court. This week, Conor McGregor was found liable for sexual assault in a case relating to an incident back in 2018. The incident in question took place two months following Conor’s defeat at the hands of Khabib Nurmagomedov who defeated him to retain his UFC lightweight championship. Now, that same belt is held by his close friend Islam Makhachev.

As many of you would’ve heard, Conor McGregor lost his civil case against Nikita Hand in Ireland. The verdict noted that McGregor was found guilty, meaning he will have to pay damages to the victim.
