The 6’4 American has been called everything from “the world’s tallest featherweight” to “Asia’s busiest fighter.” The 30-year-old mixed martial artist has had a wild career since making his UFC debut against Max Holloway in 2014, as he has since gone on to compete in Boxing, Muay Thai and Lethwei.
UFC 260 rankings update: Francis Ngannou enters top-five in P4P, Tyron Woodley continues to plummet

The UFC rankings have changed following UFC 260, with Francis Ngannou entering the top-five P4P rankings and Tyron Woodley dropping down. Ngannou brutally finished Stipe Miocic in the main event of UFC 260 with punches in the second round to capture the UFC heavyweight title. Following the win, Ngannou jumped eight spots in the promotion’s pound-for-pound rankings. He’s all the way up at No. 5 in the world now after the victory, with Miocic slipping four spots in the rankings down to No. 7 overall. With Miocic moving down, both UFC featherweight champion Alex Volkanovski and UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya moved up one spot each. Despite Jan Blachowicz beating Adesanya at UFC 259, he is ranked four spots lower at No. 8.

Dominick Cruz didn’t ask for the Sean O’Malley fight after all. At the UFC 260 post-fight show, Chael Sonnen said Cruz texted him that he wanted the O’Malley fight. It immediately caught the attention of many UFC fans who became interested in the fight. O’Malley also was interested in the fight, but according to the former UFC bantamweight champion, he never even called for the scrap.

UFC superstar Conor McGregor asked the world’s leading promotion to create a new “McGregor Belt” for the Dustin Poirier trilogy at UFC 264. McGregor takes on Poirier at UFC 264 on July 10 as the two rivals meet for a third and likely final time inside the Octagon. The first time these two met was back at UFC 178 in September 2014, with McGregor getting the better of Poirier en route to a first-round knockout win. They met again nearly seven years later at UFC 257 in January 2021, with Poirier returning the favor with a second-round knockout over the Irishman. They will look to end their feud once and for all this summer when they meet in their trilogy matchup.

Mike Winkeljohn, the striking coach of UFC superstar Jon Jones, believes his pupil will score a late finish if he fights Francis Ngannou. Jones and Ngannou are primed to fight each other if “Bones” can come together financially on a deal with the UFC. If cooler heads can prevail and the UFC and Jones can work together, then this is the fight to make. If the Jones vs. Ngannou fight does happen, then there is no doubt in the mind of Winkeljohn that Jones can finish “The Predator” late.

UFC legend Daniel Cormier encouraged fans to appreciate the sport’s champions while they are still here because they won’t be here forever. There has been a changing of the guard lately in the sport. Cormier himself, one of the sport’s all-time greats, retired last summer. Cormier’s teammate at American Kickboxing Academy, former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, recently hung up his gloves and retired from the sport. At UFC 260, Cormier’s longtime rival Stipe Miocic was knocked out by Francis Ngannou and could be contemplating retirement. The same goes for former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley, who lost to Vicente Luque on the same card. With four straight losses, UFC president Dana White hinted Woodley is done.
