Taking on Devin Goodale in a 175-pound catchweight contest, Goodale would end up handing Pliev just the second loss of his seven-fight career. The method of victory came officially as a second-round TKO for Goodale as the action was stopped between rounds… because mid-fight Pliev would end up having his left ring finger detached from his body.

That leaves Vettori without an opponent for the time being, but Holland was the first man to throw his name in the hat. Just a few weeks removed from a main event loss to Derek Brunson, Holland wants to get back in the Octagon and is willing to fight Vettori on short notice in order to do so.

Alas, Nurmagomedov decided that he had already accomplished everything he wanted to in the sport, and he decided to step away from MMA with a 29-0 record.

TJ Dillashaw says Cory Sandhagen has been acting like a "douche"

Adam D Martin - April 1, 2021

UFC bantamweight star TJ Dillashaw says that his former training partner Cory Sandhagen has been acting like a “douche” lately. Dillashaw hasn’t fought since January 2019 when he suffered a first-round TKO loss to Henry Cejudo at UFC on ESPN+ 1 in a failed attempt to win the UFC flyweight title. Following that fight, Dillashaw tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs. He gave up his belt not long afterwards and was then suspended for two years by USADA. After serving his two year-suspension, Dillashaw is now finally returning to return to the Octagon and he will do so on May 8 when he meets Sandhagen in the main event. The winner of this fight is expected to earn a title shot in the stacked UFC bantamweight division.

Veteran boxing coach Jason Parillo said that middleweight Luke Rockhold is “one of the most gifted fighters that’s ever entered the UFC.” The former UFC middleweight champion is geared to make a comeback to the Octagon after taking two years off following a brutal KO loss to Jan Blachowicz at UFC 239. Since then, Rockhold has been dealing with a shoulder injury that has kept him on the shelf. But now that he’s starting to feel better, we have seen Rockhold in the RVCA in Costa Mesa, California, training under the tutelage of Parillo and alongside his former rival Michael Bisping. The hope is that Rockhold will be able to make a comeback this summer at 185lbs.

Ben Askren continued to jab at Jorge Masvidal, saying that “I can’t stand Colby, but let’s be real fake street Jesus was afraid to fight him.” Askren and Masvidal first met back at UFC 239 in July 2019, and “Gamebred” finished that fight with a five-second flying knee to become a global superstar. Ever since then, the two have continued to talk trash to each other on social media here-and-there. But now that Askren is back in the spotlight with the boxing match against Jake Paul just around the corner, the past rivalry between Askren and Masvidal seems to have been re-ignited. After Masvidal appeared on FaceTime at a recent Asken vs. Paul press conference to troll his longtime rival, Askren took another shot at Masvidal on social media. The cycle continues.
