The Octagon remains in Nevada for tonight’s UFC 272 event, a thirteen-bout fight card headlined by Colby Covington vs. Jorge Masvidal. Colby Covington (16-3 MMA), the promotions former interim welterweight title holder, suffered his second career defeat to ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ in his most recent effort at UFC 268. Prior to that setback, ‘Chaos’ was coming off a TKO victory over Tyron Woodley.

Brandon Moreno has made a change ahead of his possible return to the octagon. The former UFC flyweight champion has decided to leave his longtime gym. Brandon Moreno has been out of the cage since UFC 270. He lost his trilogy bout with Deveison Figueiredo via a very close unanimous decision. The fight was so close, that many believed that the UFC should book a very rare fourth fight between the two flyweights.

Jorge Masvidal may be looking for another flying knee KO. At UFC 239, Masvidal fought his rival in Ben Askren and landed a flying knee KO in five seconds. In the lead-up to the fight, “Gamebred” made it clear he didn’t like Askren, and in the lead-up, to this bout against Covington he has reminded “Chaos” the last person he generally didn’t like he KO’d in five seconds.

Suffering a broken leg, having surgery and rehabilitating, McGregor has kept fans apprised of his recovery and return to training.

Colby Covington has hit back at Tai Tuivasa’s claim that he called the cops on Fabricio Werdum after their boomerang incident. In the immediate aftermath of his win over Demian Maia down in Brazil, all the way back in 2017, Colby Covington thought it’d be a good idea to get on the mic and call the nation “a dump”. The Brazilians in attendance, understandably, didn’t take too kindly to those remarks, and haven’t let go of that grudge since.

Michelle Waterson is dealing with a possible career-ending injury. Waterson was booked to fight Amanda Ribas at UFC Columbus on March 26 but was forced to withdraw from the bout due to injury. Shortly after that, they were booked to fight at UFC 274 on May 7 but apparently, that won’t be happening as Waterson took to social media to reveal she’s dealing with a serious injury.
