Tom Aspinall revealed he injured his back just after accepting his short-notice UFC 295 interim heavyweight title fight against Sergei Pavlovich. After Jon Jones tore his pec and his fight against Stipe Miocic was called off, the UFC booked Aspinall vs. Pavlovich to serve as the co-main event of UFC 295 for the interim heavyweight title. The fight was made on just over two weeks’ notice and during one of Aspinall’s first training sessions, he hurt his back.

Once Hill suffered a ruptured Achilles, the UFC booked a vacant title fight between Pereira and Prochazka. The fight did not make it past the second round. Prochazka was dropped by a counter hook, and Pereira scored elbows to the side of his opponent’s head, leading to referee Marc Goddard stopping the fight.

Pereira added the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship to his mantle on Saturday night (November 11) at UFC 295. “Poatan” scored a second-round TKO finish after dropping Jiri Prochazka and elbowing him until referee Marc Goddard has seen enough. While the finish has been debated online, Prochazka himself said he was out at one point during the blitz from Pereira.

He almost defeated Fury at his own game. While Ngannou is enjoying great success outside of the UFC, one of the downfalls is that the lone appealing MMA fight for him is against Jon Jones.

The Octagon returned to Madison Square Garden for tonight’s UFC 295 event, a thirteen-bout fight card headlined by Jiri Procházka vs. Alex Pereira. The highly anticipated light heavyweight title fight proved to be the thrilling back and forth affair that most fight fans were hoping for. Alex Pereira got off to a strong start thanks to some heavy low kicks, but Jiri Procházka was able to score a takedown midway through the opening round and was able to control the Brazilian from the position. Then, in round two, Procházka appeared to hurt Pereira with a big flurry. However, ‘Poatan’ found a home for his classic left hook which quickly turned the tide. After landing some heavy elbows to the head, Pereira sent Jiri crashing to the floor. The referee quickly stepped in and called a stop to the action.
