Chael Sonnen believes Julianna Pena knew what she was doing by ignoring Kayla Harrison post-UFC 307. Pena stepped inside the Octagon to challenge Raquel Pennington for the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Championship in Salt Lake City. Despite a two-year layoff, Pena was able to snatch a split decision victory. She is now a two-time women’s bantamweight titleholder.

Alex Pereira has returned fire at Jamahal Hill following UFC 307. Pereira put the 205-pound gold at stake against Khalil Rountree in Salt Lake City. It wasn’t an easy fight for “Poatan,” but he eventually put the gutsy Rountree away via fourth-round TKO. It was a crowd pleasing fight, but Hill didn’t appear to be on the edge of his seat.

John Lineker and Johan Estupinan each received a bonus for putting on a show at ONE Fight Night 25 on Prime Video last Friday, October 4.  Both men delivered rousing performances in their respective bouts. This prompted ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong to award them $50,000 bonuses.

Julianna Pena is downplaying Kayla Harrison’s performance at UFC 307. Pena and Harrison both competed on the same card in Salt Lake City this past Saturday. Pena was in the co-main event competing for championship gold. Harrison went one-on-one with Ketlen Vieira. Pena captured the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Championship a second time, while Harrison earned a unanimous decision over Vieira.

The Octagon returned to Salt Lake City for tonight’s UFC 307 event, a 12-bout fight card headlined by Alex Pereira vs. Khalil Rountree Jr. The highly anticipated light heavyweight title fight proved to be a thrilling back and forth affair. Khalil Rountree Jr. got off to a fast start in his first career title fight, arguably winning both of the first two rounds (at least on many analysts scorecards). However, Alex Pereira was able to turn the tide in his favor in round three and proceeded to batter ‘The War Horse’ throughout the course of round four. In the final seconds of the fourth frame, ‘Poatan’ landed a brutal body-head combination that put Rountree Jr. down for good.
