Jon Jones is looking to get back into the Octagon fairly soon. Jones, who has not fought since UFC 247 in February of 2020, has been bulking up to make his heavyweight debut and now has two dates he is circling to make that happen. According to Jones, he is looking at April or July as the two dates, but he is hoping April is at Madison Square Garden.

Earlier this week, prosecutors were given additional time to file a criminal complaint against UFC fighter Jon Jones. Back in September, in the hours following his induction into the UFC Hall of Fame, Jones was arrested after his fiancée spoke to the police and said that Jon had been “a little bit” physical with her in their hotel room. She reportedly had blood around her lips and chin with Jones being put under arrest for misdemeanor domestic violence charges – before later becoming agitated and headbutting a police car.

Jones was recently kicked out of Team Jackson-Wink following an alleged domestic battery incident at a hotel in Las Vegas following his Hall of Fame induction ceremony back in September ahead of UFC 266. With Jones no longer part of the team, at least until he cleans his act up, he has admitted that he is now looking into other gyms to potentially join, and one of those options appears to be Fight Ready. This past week, photos emerged of Jones training at the camp alongside the former UFC champion Cejudo and alongside UFC middleweight Eryk Anders as he looked to be enjoying Fight Ready. However, while Jones might like the move, there are others who do not like it.

Former UFC light heavyweight champ Jon Jones says he “definitely won’t be going back” to Team Jackson-Wink after his recent ban from the gym. Jones was involved in a domestic battery incident in Las Vegas in September, and last month, his former coach Mike Winkeljohn admitted that he kicked Jones out of the gym. The reason Winkeljohn gave Jones the boot from his longtime gym is twofold. One, because Winkeljohn is a husband and father of daughters himself and he felt conflicted continuing to train Jones while the domestic issue is looming over him. And two, Jones’ issues with alcohol. Jones has admitted that he has a problem with alcohol, and Winkeljohn wants him to get the help he needed before coming back to the gym.

In what was one of the toughest fights of Jones’ UFC light heavyweight title run, he edged out a split decision to get past Santos in what was an incredible fight. Of course, that fight was over two years ago, and so much else has happened in the years since then. Santos is still fighting and just beat Johnny Walker in his last fight, but Jones hasn’t fought since February 2020. Since then, he has mentioned moving up to heavyweight, but that move has since been delayed for numerous issues including Jones’ recent arrest for domestic battery.
