Jon Jones is looking to get back into the Octagon fairly soon. Jones, who has not fought since UFC 247 in February of 2020, has been bulking up to make his heavyweight debut and now has two dates he is circling to make that happen. According to Jones, he is looking at April or July as the two dates, but he is hoping April is at Madison Square Garden.

Jones (26-1 MMA) and Cormier (22-3 MMA) of course have one of the most storied rivalries in mixed martial arts history. The pair initially collided at UFC 182 in 2015, with ‘Bones’ emerging victorious and ‘DC’ leaving distraught.

Later that same year, ‘Bones’ announced that he would be vacating his 205lbs title in order to make a run at heavyweight gold.

Earlier this week, prosecutors were given additional time to file a criminal complaint against UFC fighter Jon Jones. Back in September, in the hours following his induction into the UFC Hall of Fame, Jones was arrested after his fiancée spoke to the police and said that Jon had been “a little bit” physical with her in their hotel room. She reportedly had blood around her lips and chin with Jones being put under arrest for misdemeanor domestic violence charges – before later becoming agitated and headbutting a police car.

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones posted a new video of him grappling with Olympic wrestling bronze medalist J’Den Cox. Jones was recently booted out of his longtime gym, Team Jackson-Wink in Albuquerque, New Mexico, after his coach John Winkeljohn kicked him out of the gym after a domestic battery incident with his partner in Las Vegas back in September. Initially, it was thought that Jones was going to make some serious changes in his life and then get back into the gym when both he and his former team felt like he was ready to come into the doors again.

Jake Hager has refuted Jon Jones’ claim that they are set to compete in a grappling match at next month’s ‘Fury Pro Grappling’ event. Earlier this afternoon Jones (26-1 MMA) took to social media where he suggested that he was set to compete in a grappling match opposite the undefeated Bellator heavyweight on December 9th.

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones shared his thoughts on Ciryl Gane, saying “I think he’s pretty unique for a heavyweight.” Jones took to his social media this weekend to post some videos of him training with Henry Cejudo and the squad at Fight Ready. In response to the video that Jones posted, a fan asked Jones what his thoughts are on Gane, who is the UFC interim heavyweight champion. As far as Jones is concerned, he believes that Gane is a unique fighter to the division. However, he also wanted to make sure the fans know that he, too, is unique.

Jones is one of the best fighters in MMA history, but he has come under fire following this latest incident and his reaction to it.

UFC analyst Daniel Cormier blasted Henry Cejudo for training with Jon Jones, and “Bones” has responded to the criticism of his former rival. Jones was recently kicked out of Team Jackson-Wink following an alleged domestic battery incident at a hotel in Las Vegas following his Hall of Fame induction ceremony back in September ahead of UFC 266. With Jones no longer part of the team, at least until he cleans his act up, he has admitted that he is now looking into other gyms to potentially join, and one of those options appears to be Fight Ready. This past week, photos emerged of Jones training at the camp alongside the former UFC champion Cejudo and alongside UFC middleweight Eryk Anders as he looked to be enjoying Fight Ready. However, while Jones might like the move, there are others who do not like it.

After Jones was arrested and charged with domestic violence after the 2021 UFC Hall of Fame ceremony, Mike Winkeljohn announced he was kicking “Bones” out of the gym. He said the former UFC light heavyweight was able to return barring him making significant changes to his life.

Former UFC light heavyweight champ Jon Jones says he “definitely won’t be going back” to Team Jackson-Wink after his recent ban from the gym. Jones was involved in a domestic battery incident in Las Vegas in September, and last month, his former coach Mike Winkeljohn admitted that he kicked Jones out of the gym. The reason Winkeljohn gave Jones the boot from his longtime gym is twofold. One, because Winkeljohn is a husband and father of daughters himself and he felt conflicted continuing to train Jones while the domestic issue is looming over him. And two, Jones’ issues with alcohol. Jones has admitted that he has a problem with alcohol, and Winkeljohn wants him to get the help he needed before coming back to the gym.

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones tuned in to watch his former college roommate Colby Covington rematch Kamaru Usman. Usman (20-1 MMA) and Covington (16-3 MMA) had originally collided back at UFC 245 in December of 2019, with the ‘Nigerian Nightmare’ emerging victorious via a thrilling fifth round TKO. Since that first encounter, Kamaru went on to defend his welterweight title on three occasions, stopping Jorge Masvidal and Gilbert Burns in his most recent efforts.

UFC light heavyweight Thiago Santos hopes that former rival Jon Jones comes back better than ever, saying “Jones is a legend of the sport.” Santos and Jones met in the main event of UFC 239 in July 2019. In what was one of the toughest fights of Jones’ UFC light heavyweight title run, he edged out a split decision to get past Santos in what was an incredible fight. Of course, that fight was over two years ago, and so much else has happened in the years since then. Santos is still fighting and just beat Johnny Walker in his last fight, but Jones hasn’t fought since February 2020. Since then, he has mentioned moving up to heavyweight, but that move has since been delayed for numerous issues including Jones’ recent arrest for domestic battery.

During a recent Reddit ‘Ask Me Anything’ session with his ESPN co-host Ryan Clark, ‘DC’ was questioned if he thought ‘Bones’ had a realistic chance of defeating either of the reigning UFC heavyweight champions in Ciryl Gane and Francis Ngannou.
