Dana White is in awe of the UFC 290 co-main event between Alexandre Pantoja and Brandon Moreno. Pantoja challenged Moreno for the UFC Flyweight Championship on July 8. The two traded leather inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, and fans in attendance certainly got their money’s worth. The title fight went the distance and Alexandre Pantoja emerged victorious via split decision.

The UFC reportedly managed to cut the money paid out to fighters by over 30 million dollars last year, despite the company’s profits going up. One of the hot topics of the last few years in the Ultimate Fighting Championship has been fighter pay. Some feel they aren’t getting enough, whereas others are just happy to be in the big dance. UFC president Dana White, as you can imagine, isn’t a big fan of the debate.

Although the $300 million-dollar per year contract is set to expire in 2025, reports from Sports Business Journal indicate the promotion’s intention to keep ESPN as its singular broadcast platform in the United States. The UFC previously called Fox Sports home from 2011-2018, this after a six-year stint with Paramount Network (formerly Spike TV) gave the UFC its mainstream appeal.
