Back for the first time since a decision victory over Jermell Charlo in September, Canelo Alvarez faced the unbeaten Jaime Munguia. While the young contender had some early success, he hit the canvas in round four for the first time in his career.

Ryan Garcia continues to deny knowingly taking banned substances amid a failed VADA test for his majority decision victory over Devin Haney. The reports first surfaced from Dan Rafael and ESPN’s Mike Coppinger. It was revealed that Garcia popped for Ostarine. Coppinger also noted that “KingRy’s” A-sample also screened positive for 19-norandrosterone, although that part hadn’t been confirmed. Garcia has been calling for his B-sample to be tested.

Golden Boy promoter Oscar De La Hoya has shared his thoughts after Jaime Munguia fell short in his undisputed super middleweight title fight against Canelo Alvarez. As expected, Munguia wasn’t afraid to swing leather at Canelo, but this also led to his downfall. The challenger often overextended, allowing Canelo to land counter punches. The biggest moment of the fight was in round four when Canelo dropped Munguia with a counter uppercut. Jaime was able to beat the 10-count, but he was clearly outmatched from that point on.

Alvarez will return to the boxing ring against Jaime Munguía in Las Vegas on Saturday. He returns to defend his super middleweight titles after three consecutive victories.

Garcia tested positive for Ostarine, a performance enhancer, on three different occasions leading up to his victory over Devin Haney last month. He defeated Haney by majority decision to hand the WBC super lightweight champion his first career defeat.

There, Ryan Garcia faced his former amateur rival, Devin Haney. The two fought six times in the amateurs, splitting the series at 3-3. Ultimately, it was Garcia who broke the tie with a dominant decision victory over ‘The Dream’ on DAZN pay-per-view.

According to boxing journalist Dan Rafael, Garcia tested positive for the banned performance enhancer Ostarine in a recent Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) test linked to the Haney fight. As of this writing, Garcia’s representation hasn’t publically addressed the reported positive test.

The undefeated Mexican boxer is coming off a knockout win over John Ryder earlier this year, and will now get his crack at the champion.

Instead, she shocked MMA fans by signing with David Feldman’s BKFC.

Former heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder plans to have not one, but two boxing matches this summer. ‘The Bronze Bomber’ has been out of the ring since December. In the co-main event of the ‘Day Of Reckoning’ card, Deontay Wilder faced former champion Joseph Parker. The American was expected to face Anthony Joshua if he could score a victory, but he didn’t. Parker largely dominated Wilder last winter, handing him a unanimous decision defeat.

Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson will officially be a professional boxing match. Last month, it was announced that ‘The Problem Child’ and ‘Iron Mike’ will meet in a boxing match. The two will compete live on Netflix on July 20th, in a fight going down from AT&T Stadium in Dallas. Jake Paul has also revealed that they’re expecting upwards of 96,000 fans in attendance for the fight this summer.

There is no love lost between Canelo Alvarez and Oscar De La Hoya. Alvarez, the reigning undisputed super middleweight champion, was once in a partnership with De La Hoya, an International Boxing Hall of Famer. Things quickly deteriorated between the two sides, leading to a nasty split. Canelo is currently signed to Al Haymon’s Premier Boxing Champions promotion, but he had fights under Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing.

Devin Haney wants another shot at Ryan Garcia in the boxing ring. ‘The Dream’ returned to the ring on Saturday night to face his longtime rival, ‘KingRy’. The two young boxers faced off on six occasions in the amateurs, splitting the series at three victories apiece. They were supposed to clash as professionals last weekend, with WBC super lightweight gold on the lane. However, after Ryan Garcia missed weight, his bout with Devin Haney was turned into a non-title affair.

Garcia stunningly defeated Haney last weekend in their highly-anticipated boxing match. After the fight, their purses were revealed, with Garcia making $50 million and Haney earning $35 million.
