Chiesa (18-5 MMA) had entered tonight’s bout sporting a four-fight winning steak, his latest being a drubbing of Neil Magny back in January. ‘Maverick’ had most previously tasted defeated at the hands of Anthony Pettis in a lightweight scrap.

Vicente Luque thought he would be fighting Michael Chiesa after his win over Tyron Woodley in March. Luque and Chiesa are currently ranked fifth and sixth at welterweight and both are dark horses of the division. It’s an intriguing matchup but for the Brazilian, he knows stylistic, it’s a striker vs. grappler matchup. Luque is also expecting the scrap to be an entertaining one for however long it lasts.

Vicente Luque and Gilbert Burns are both top-six welterweights, yet the two will never fight one another. Burns and Luque have been teammates and friends for years. Burns is coming off a TKO loss to his former teammate in Kamaru Usman for the welterweight title and will face Stephen Thomson at UFC 264. It’s a very intriguing matchup and Luque says he’s eager to see Burns face “Wonderboy” and he plans to help Burns out as much as possible.

UFC welterweight contender Vicente Luque called out Nate Diaz following his first-round submission win over Tyron Woodley at UFC 260. Luque picked up the biggest win of his UFC career to date when he submitted Woodley in the co-main event of UFC 260 with a D’arce choke. It was a wild fight for as long as it lasted, with Woodley landing a big punch early on that rocked Luque, only to see the Brazilian come back and hurt Woodley on the feet before taking him to the ground and finishing him by submission. It’s the kind of marquee win that Luque needs in order to fight the upper echelon of the UFC welterweight division as he continues to march towards the title. But before a title shot comes, Luque wants to take a money fight against Diaz first.

Former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley looks to be in fantastic shape ahead of his fight against Vicente Luque at UFC 260. Woodley is looking to snap a three-fight losing skid when he meets Luque next Saturday night in the co-main event of UFC 260. The 38-year-old St. Louis native is the No. 7 ranked welterweight in the UFC, but with three straight losses to Colby Covington, Gilbert Burns, and Kamaru Usman, the former champion is being used as a gatekeeper to the top-10 now. The UFC is giving Luque the chance to go in there and take on a former champion and see what he’s made of, and the oddsmakers like his chances. Luque is currently a -275 betting favorite, while the former champion Woodley is a +200 underdog at the moment.

Former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley opened up as a big betting underdog against Vicente Luque for their upcoming fight at UFC 260. Woodley has lost his last three fights to Colby Covington, Gilbert Burns, and Kamaru Usman. Not only did he lose those fights, but Burns and Usman shut him out on the scorecards and Covington finished him with TKO. Considering he was the UFC welterweight champion just two years ago, it’s been an incredible fall from grace for Woodley. But despite the recent win streak he has vowed to keep fighting, and the UFC recently booked him to take on Luque at UFC 260. That event takes place on March 27.

An exciting welterweight bout between Tyron Woodley and Vicente Luque is the latest addition to the upcoming UFC 260 pay-per-view in March. ESPN’s Brett Okamoto was the first to reveal that Woodley will take on Luque at UFC 260. The card takes place on March 27 and features a main event between UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic and Francis Ngannou. The co-main event sees UFC bantamweight champion Petr Yan taking on No. 1 contender Aljamain Sterling. UFC welterweight Max Griffin has called out Carlos Condit and Vicente Luque after his vicious TKO win at UFC Vegas 13. Griffin battered UFC newcomer Ramiz Brahimaj, giving him black eyes with a laser-accurate jab and eventually finishing the fight with a series of strikes in the clinch. Brahimaj suffered a gruesome ear injury and the doctor was forced to wave off the fight. It was a huge win for Griffin and improved the veteran’s overall UFC record to 4-6.
