Jose Aldo says he didn’t enter his UFC 315 matchup against Aiemann Zahabi healthy. Aldo and Zahabi shared the Octagon inside Bell Centre in Montreal. The bout went the distance, and Zahabi was awarded the unanimous decision victory. After the fight, Aldo announced his retirement from pro MMA competition.

Islam Makhachev has dropped a stern warning for Jack Della Maddalena. Maddalena is the newly minted UFC Welterweight Champion. He demonstrated solid takedown defense, movement, and striking to prevent Belal Muhammad from having the success he’d been used to. While Muhammad was always in the fight, Maddalena was a step or two ahead of him most times. It led to a unanimous decision victory for Maddalena, who is the first UFC champion born in Perth.

Fans were concerned for one fighter on the UFC 315 prelims, but there is some good news. A viral video of Bruno Silva’s loss against Marc-André Barriault has surfaced. The clip was of the moment Silva took an elbow to the side of the head. Silva left the Octagon on a stretcher and was taken to a local hospital. The UFC broadcast noted that while Silva complained of neck issues, he was alert and was able to move his extremities.

UFC flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko isn’t 100% sure what her next move is after winning at UFC 315. In the co-main event of UFC 315, Valentina Shevchenko defended her territory. She was able to defeat Manon Fiorot and successfully defend her UFC women’s flyweight championship, even dropping her opponent in the process. While it was a close fight, the majority of pundits and fans scored it in favor of Shevchenko, who was able to prove that she’s far from done at the elite level.

Belal Muhammad has released a short statement following his loss to Jack Della Maddalena in the main event of UFC 315. In the main event of UFC 315, Belal Muhammad fell short. He aimed to successfully defend his UFC welterweight championship for the first time, but he couldn’t quite get over the finish line. He was beaten by Jack Della Maddalena in an absolutely gruelling affair, and although he had his moments, Belal just couldn’t really get his wrestling going in the way that would’ve opened up the path to victory.

Last night at UFC 315, we saw Jose Aldo compete for the last time in mixed martial arts. He was defeated by Aiemann Zahabi in what proved to be a pretty controversial decision loss. With that being said, it was an incredible bout, especially the third round, which swung one way and then the other before Zahabi was ultimately the man who had his hand raised.

The Octagon returned to Montreal for tonight’s UFC 315 pay-per-view event, and 4 fighters wound up taking home performance bonuses. The fight card was headlined by a welterweight title fight between Belal Muhammad and Jack Della Maddalena. The contest proved to be a coming out party for Jack Della Maddalena. The Australian standout was able to get the better of Belal Muhammad in the striking throughout the majority of the contest, this while stuffing most of the takedowns that came his way. Even when ‘JDM’ got taken down, it never took him long to return to his feet. After a chaotic fifth and final round it was clear that Jack had done enough to hear the words he’s longer for, “And NEW!”.

Tonight’s UFC 315 event was headlined by a welterweight title fight between Belal Muhammad and Jack Della Maddalena. Muhammad (24-4 MMA) was looking to earn his first career title defense when he took to the Octagon this evening in Montreal. ‘Remember the Name’ had of course captured the promotion’s welterweight title this past July in Manchester, scoring a lopsided unanimous decision victory over Leon Edwards. The 36-year-old had entered tonight’s title bout on a 10-fight winning streak, which includes victories over Gilbert Burns, Sean Brady and Stephen Thompson.

Muhammad’s UFC 315 showdown with Maddalena will mark his first attempt at a successful UFC Welterweight Championship defense. While Maddalena was expecting to clash with Leon Edwards, he got the call with an offer to fight for UFC gold once Shavkat Rakhmonov couldn’t make the date due to an injury.
