Since the launch of ‘Power Slap’ in January, UFC president Dana White has been vocal about the sport’s rise to fame on social media amidst controversy. White invited the NELK Boys, a group of prominent Canadian YouTubers, to UFC headquarters to unveil its new merchandise and UFC-themed clothing line, which went on sale the day before UFC 289, taking place in Vancouver, Canada. In a now-viral TikTok posted by NELK, Kyle Forgeard, the channel’s founder and creator, was seen having a conversation with Dana White about the lack of uniqueness in the NHL’s marketing plan, stating the hockey league wants to remain distant from NELK despite its millions of followers.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship is in full force and the promotion is beginning to hit the road and go international for more Fight Night cards. On Thursday, Dana White announced the main events for UFC Nashville on August 5, UFC Singapore on August 26, and UFC Paris on September 2.

In the main event of UFC 289, the Brazilian dominated en route to a lopsided decision victory.

The former double-champion is currently preparing for his return, having recently coached The Ultimate Fighter. Conor McGregor coached the show opposite Michael Chandler, with the two reportedly eyeing a potential December bout.

McGregor was in attendance at the NBA Finals Game 4 in Miami as he was promoting a new product and had a skit with the Heat mascot that ended up sending the costumed individual to the hospital. Apparently that was not the only McGregor-related incident to take place at the event, as earlier today TMZ Sports reported that a woman is now accusing McGregor of sexually assaulting her during the game.

Charles Oliveira (34-9 MMA) defeated Beneil Dariush (22-5 MMA) this past weekend, Saturday, June 10th at UFC 289. The lightweight co-main event proved Oliveira victorious over Dariush via KO/TKO at 4:10 of round 1.

Last month at UFC 288, Aljamain Sterling and Henry Cejudo went to war over the UFC bantamweight championship. While it was a close and competitive bout, the judges ruled that ‘Funk Master’ was the man to have his hand raised in victory.

He’ll go head to head with Joaquim Silva, attempting to build on the victory he pulled off over Damir Ismagulov in December. Prior to that, he was beaten by Mateusz Gamrot in an incredibly tight and technical decision.

Kyle Daukaus could have still been a UFC fighter if he wanted. Daukaus lost back-to-back fights by knockout to Roman Dolidze and Eryk Anders and after the loss to Anders, he had fought out his contract. With him losing two in a row, Daukaus expected to get released but he was offered a short-notice fight at light heavyweight against Tyson Pedro at UFC 284 in Australia which he turned down. He was subsequently released shortly there after.

Vettori is set to headline UFC Vegas 75 against Jared Cannonier on Saturday night as he looks to extend his win streak to two after beating Roman Dolidze. Although Vettori is ranked third, he likely needs multiple wins to get a title shot, especially due to the fact he is 0-2 against Israel Adesanya.
