Former MMA referee John McCarthy has explained why he believes the commission did the right thing by changing Chris Weidman’s victory to a technical decision. Last weekend, Chris Weidman defeated Bruno Silva. It was initially ruled as a stoppage win for Chris, however, it was eventually changed to a technical decision. In the immediate aftermath, there was a lot of controversy surrounding reported eye pokes that were committed by Weidman.

In the main event of UFC Atlantic City, a potential title eliminator bout at women’s flyweight went down as Manon Fiorot took on Erin Blanchfield. Fiorot entered the fight with a perfect 6-0 record in the UFC and was coming off a decision win over Rose Namajunas. Blanchfield, meanwhile, was also 6-0 in the UFC and entered the fight coming off a decision win over Taila Santos after scoring a submission win over Jessica Andrade in her first UFC main event.

Joaquin Buckley believes Vicente Luque quit at UFC Atlantic City. Buckley stepped up on short notice to face Luque in the co-main event of UFC Atlantic City. The first round was competitive, but in the second round, Luque pulled guard and Buckley landed heavy ground-and-pound shots to get the TKO win.

There, Khamzat Chimaev will meet former middleweight champion Robert Whittaker, in the first five-round bout of his career. For his part, ‘The Reaper’ is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Paulo Costa in February.

Buckley defeated Vicente Luque by second-round TKO at UFC Atlantic City on Saturday. He has now won three in a row since making the full-time move to welterweight after an up-and-down middleweight stint.

After its March 21 release date on Amazon Prime Video, Road House has accumulated over 50 million viewers over its first two weekends. The two-week total viewership set an Amazon Prime Video record, a company representative told Deadline.

UFC fighter Kyle Nelson has made it known that he’d be interested in taking on Nate Landwehr in his next outing. Last weekend at UFC Atlantic City, Kyle Nelson and Nate Landwehr both enjoyed big moments. Landwehr knocked out Jamall Emmers, whereas Nelson secured a nice TKO win over Bill Algeo.

Right now, the big focus in mixed martial arts is on UFC 300 which goes down next weekend. The former UFC champion managed to get back in the win column with a stoppage finish that was eventually changed to a technical decision. However, there was plenty of controversy surrounding the contest.

Play-by-play ace Jon Anik is not opposed to Bo Nickal getting the main card rub for UFC 300. The biggest MMA event of 2024 is upon us. On April 13, UFC 300 will emanate from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The card is stacked from the first preliminary fight all the way to the main event. In the main event, light heavyweight titleholder Alex Pereira will put his gold at stake against Jamahal Hill, who was never beaten for the gold but had to relinquish it due to an injury. Women’s strawweight champion Zhang Weili defends her title against Yan Xiaonan. We’ll also see Justin Gaethje vs. Max Holloway for the symbolic BMF Championship, and Charles Oliveira vs. Arman Tsarukyan.

Manon Fiorot is calling for a shot at UFC gold following her unanimous decision win over Erin Blanchfield. Fiorot and Blanchfield went toe-to-toe inside the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey for a UFC Fight Night main event. Prior to their fight, both contenders made a strong case for a UFC women’s flyweight title shot, but it’s clear that Fiorot is well ahead of Blanchfield in the pecking order after scoring a one-sided unanimous decision victory. Fiorot kept picking Blanchfield apart and didn’t allow her to get the grappling going.

Erin Blanchfield ran into a stumbling block when she was swept by Manon Fiorot at UFC Atlantic City, and she has briefly reacted to the loss. Blanchfield and Fiorot shared the Octagon inside Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey on March 30th. Early on in the fight, Blanchfield had a hold of a guillotine choke, but once Fiorot got out and the fight returned to the feet, Blanchfield just kept eating shots while having no success getting to the grappling. It was a clear victory for the stronger Fiorot, and a bump in the road for Blanchfield’s title hopes.
