Alex Pereira thinks Jiri Prochazka could be scared going into their rematch at UFC 303. Pereira and Prochazka fought back in November at UFC 295 and it was the Brazilian winning by second-round TKO to win the vacant light heavyweight title. Pereira did a good job with leg kicks to slow Prochazka down and eventually caught him with a big punch to get the knockout win.

Former two-weight UFC champion Conor McGregor is again taking aim at Dustin Poirier. ‘The Notorious’ was set to make his return to the cage this Saturday at UFC 303. However, due to a broken toe, Conor McGregor pulled out of his long-awaited fight with Michael Chandler. The fight was going to be the Irishman’s first since a first-round stoppage loss to Dustin Poirier in July 2021. McGregor famously snapped his leg in the closing seconds of the first round in that contest.

UFC heavyweight contender Ciryl Gane will likely be returning to his home country of France. ‘Bon Gamin’ hasn’t competed in nearly a year. Last September in Paris, Ciryl Gane scored a second-round knockout victory over Serghei Spivac in a win that he badly needed. Prior to that victory, the Frenchman had suffered two losses in his three previous contests, dropping bouts to Jon Jones and Francis Ngannou.

Facing Islam Makhachev, the longtime fan-favorite had great success, and one judge had the bout tied heading into the fifth round. However, Poirier was submitted with minutes left in the contest.

Igor Severino handed a nine-month suspension for biting opponent at UFC Fight Night event

Flyweight MMA fighter Igor Severino was handed a nine-month suspension by the Nevada State Athletic Commission after biting Andre Lima in his March 23 UFC debut. Severino’s nine-month suspension is retroactive, and he’s also been fined more than $2,000 in fees for the incident. He was cut from the promotion immediately after biting Lima inside the Octagon.

Arman Tsarukyan has been fined and suspended by the NSAC for his UFC 300 fan attack. The 27-year-old Tsarukyan (22-3 MMA) last fought and defeated Charles Oliveira (34-10 MMA) in a lightweight bout this past April at the historic UFC 300.
