Jessica Andrade will be making the walk to the Octagon for the fourth time in 2023. The UFC announced in a press release on Tuesday that Andrade will face Tatiana Suarez at UFC Nashville at strawweight. Originally, Suarez was supposed to fight Virna Jandiroba, but the Brazilian has suffered an injury and will be replaced by the former champ in Andrade. The main event of UFC Nashville sees Cory Sandhagen taking on Umar Nurmagomedov.

UFC President Dana White heaped praise on Tatiana Suarez following her first fight in nearly four years. Suarez collided with Montana De La Rosa on the main card of UFC Vegas 70. This was Suarez’s first bout since June 2019. She had been sidelined due to issues with her neck and knee. Suarez didn’t let the inactivity bring her down against De La Rosa, as she secured the second-round submission win.

Tonight’s UFC Vegas 70 main card features a women’s flyweight fight between Tatiana Suarez and Montana De La Rosa. Suarez (9-0 MMA) will be returning to action for the first time since June of 2019, where she defeated Nina Nunes by unanimous decision. That win was preceded by a TKO victory over former UFC champion Carla Esparza.

Tatiana Suarez has revealed that she plans on dropping to strawweight following her UFC return on February 25, 2023. Tatiana Suarez (8-0 MMA) is scheduled to fight Montana De La Rosa (12-7 MMA) on Saturday February 25th at UFC Fight Night 220 taking place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.

ESPN Deportes’ Carlos Contreras Legaspi reported on Tuesday that an injury has forced Tatiana Suarez out of her highly-anticipated comeback.

Tatiana Suarez will finally make the walk to the Octagon again. Suarez, who many pegged as a future UFC champion, has not competed since she beat Nina Nunes at UFC 238 in June of 2019. Since then, she has been dealing with neck injuries but has recently been cleared. The plan was for her to also move up in weight to flyweight.

Suarez won TUF in 2016 and quickly went 5-0 in the Octagon, with wins over the likes of Carla Esparza and Nina Nunes, as she jumped to the top of the women’s strawweight contender rankings. However, Suarez has not fought since June 2019 due to a neck injury, and she was recently removed from the 115lbs rankings due to inactivity. Now that she’s finally healthy again, Suarez is ready to return to the Octagon, only this time she plans on coming back at a higher weight class as she has her eyes set on the flyweight division.

Suarez is considered by many to be the best prospect in the women’s 115lbs division and there are many fans and media who believe she deserves a title shot. Being able to maintain an undefeated record is no easy feat, especially when there are so many rising stars on the UFC roster. Yet strawweight contender Tatiana Suarez has just done that. Currently holding a 9-0 record, it may be no surprise that some are comparing her to the undefeated UFC lightweight champ Khabib Nurmagomedov. Suarez made her UFC debut in The Ultimate Fighter in 2016. She beat Amanda Cooper via  d’arce choke in the first round and took home the victory. Since then she has continued competing in the Octagon and beaten worthy contenders including Nina Ansaroff last month at UFC 238. Similarly to Nurmagomedov, Suarez utilizes wrestling to defeat her opponents.

Having earned this massive win, Tatiana Suarez is now just a few short steps away from a title fight with UFC strawweight champion Rose Namajunas. And while she might have to take another fight in the meantime, she feels she’s more than capable dispatching Namajunas when they inevitably share the cage. In fact, she believes she can thump Namajunas even more decisively than she just beat Carla Esparza. Esparza, after all, is a wrestler, and Suarez soundly out-wrestled her. Namajunas, meanwhile, is not a wrestler.
