Former UFC light-heavyweight Sam Alvey has booked his first fight since his UFC release. ‘Smilin’ has been out of the cage since his clash against Michal Oleksiejczuk last August. Heading into the contest, it was well-known that Alvey was on thin ice within the promotion. Leading into that fight at UFC Vegas 59, the former middleweight was winless in his eight preceding octagon appearances.

Former UFC middleweight Sam Alvey has revealed why he called out Jake Paul on social media. ‘Smilin Sam’ is fresh off his knockout loss to Michał Oleksiejczuk at UFC Vegas 59 last Saturday. The bout was the last on his UFC contract, and the promotion doesn’t plan to bring him back. Alvey didn’t win any of his last nine contests in the UFC.

Sam Alvey is no longer on the UFC roster. Following Alvey’s first-round TKO loss to Michal Oleksiejczuk, he fought out his UFC contract and it was likely that was going to be it for him. Prior to the fight, he told BJPENN.com’s Just Scrap Radio that the UFC was allowing him to fight out his deal.

Sam Alvey has issued a statement following his TKO loss to Michal Oleksiejczuk at tonight’s UFC Vegas 59 event. Alvey (33-18-1 MMA) had entered the contest on an eight-fight winless skid, his most recent effort resulting in a submission loss to Brendan Allen. “Smile’n Sam’s” most recent win had come back in June of 2018, when he earned a split-decision victory over Gian Villante.

Alvey, who’s on an eight-fight winless streak as he’s 0-7-1, has had a ton of bad luck with controversial decisions and short-notice fights. Sam Alvey is getting one more fight. Alvey, who is 0-7-1 in his last eight UFC fights, announced on his YouTube channel that the UFC is giving him one more fight. He has one fight left on his deal and the promotion said they enjoy working with him so they are letting him fight out that agreement.

Despite that skid, he remains undeterred by any fighter on the roster. ‘Smiling Sam’ is scheduled to fight Brendan Allen this weekend at UFC Vegas 47 at 205 pounds. However, that was far from the plan to start with. Alvey was originally scheduled to fight Ian Heinisch at middleweight at the event.

Former UFC middleweight title challenger Patrick Cote ripped fan-favorite Sam Alvey following his latest UFC fight announcement. On Monday, word broke that Alvey would be getting another fight in the UFC against Ian Heinisch in early 2022. For Alvey, he is very fortunate to be getting another fight in the UFC considering he is 0-6-1 over his last seven fights. In his last matchup, Alvey lost a split decision to Wellington Turman, and following the fight, UFC president Dana White hinted he would get one more fight in the Octagon. However, there are a lot of other fighters who are not pleased that Alvey is getting another chance. Although he is an exciting fighter and a fan favorite, the fact is he hasn’t won a fight in three years. There are other fighters who have not been given as much rope as Alvey has, and Cote wanted to point it out.

Middleweight veteran Sam Alvey will likely get another chance in the Octagon despite his rough losing skid, said UFC president Dana White. Alvey lost a controversial split decision to Wellington Turman on the UFC Vegas 35 preliminary card. The controversy came because, in the third round of the fight, Turman lost two points for repeated eye pokes. However, two of the judges still thought that Turman won all three rounds of the fight, so despite having two points deducted, he won 28-27, 27-28, and 28-27 on the scorecards for a split decision victory over Alvey.

UFC middleweight Sam Alvey released an emotional video just minutes after being choked out cold by Julian Marquez at UFC Vegas 23. Alvey suffered another tough loss in the Octagon when Marquez choked him out in the second round of their UFC Vegas 23 middleweight fight. After a strong first round that saw both men land some big shots on the feet, Marquez was able to rock Alvey badly in the second and then find the submission. Referee Mark Smith was late to save Alvey and “Smilen Sam” was choked out cold. He is now 0-5-1 over his last six UFC fights.

Sam Alvey is going into another do-or-die fight for his UFC career. Alvey enters his UFC on ABC 2 fight against Jullian Marquez being 0-4-1 in his last five. However, all five of those took place at light heavyweight so Alvey is moving back down to 185lbs and plans to take advantage of the UFC giving him one more fight.

Despite being winless over his last five fights, Sam Alvey has been booked for an upcoming middleweight bout against veteran Zak Cummings. Alvey and Cummings will meet in a three-round fight at a UFC Fight Night event that is set to take place on April 10. MMAjunkie.com first confirmed the bout. With Alvey entering this matchup on a five-fight winless skid, his spot on the UFC could be in jeopardy with another loss. With UFC president Dana White announcing a few months ago that the promotion is going to cut 60 fighters, many thought that Alvey could be among the cuts. However, the UFC is going to give him one more chance to win.

Sam Alvey thought his time as a UFC fighter was over when he lost to Ryan Spann at UFC 249 but he’s getting one more shot at UFC 254. Alvey was on a three-fight losing streak and figured it was do-or-die for his career and dropped a very close split decision. Yet, weeks later, he got a fight offer to take on Da Un Jung at UFC 254 and knows he will be cut if he loses five in a row.
