It’s an intriguing matchup and one Blachowicz says he asked for. He says when he heard Pereira was moving up, he wanted to be the first to welcome the Brazilian to 205lbs as he likes the style matchup, and he expects to send Pereira back down to middleweight.

In that outing, Du Plessis survived an early swarm to win by second-round stoppage. The victory was the South African’s seventh victory in a row, previously defeating names such as Darren Till in that stretch.

Sterling is the reigning UFC Bantamweight Champion, but some feel he hasn’t been given his due from the UFC brass. The “Funk Master” is coming off a highly competitive five-round fight with Henry Cejudo at UFC 288. The UFC has insisted that Sterling have a quick turnaround by champion standards to meet Sean O’Malley. The title fight is scheduled for August 19.

While Dern couldn’t secure the submission she was hoping for, she did earn a unanimous decision victory to keep her top 10 strawweight ranking safe.
