For his part, ‘The Funk Master’ last defeated Henry Cejudo in May, and was looking for his fourth title defense.

Former UFC women’s strawweight champion Rose Namajunas has reflected on her loss to Carla Esparza. ‘Thug Rose’ is slated to return to the cage in the co-main event of UFC France this Saturday. There, Rose Namajunas is expected to face Manon Fiorot in her first fight up at flyweight. For the former champion, the fight will be her first in over a year, since her UFC 274 rematch with Carla Esparza.

Former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman suffered a broken leg against Brad Tavares this earlier month. The former All-American wrestler made his long-awaited return to the cage at UFC 292. The bout was Chris Weidman’s first in over two years, last suffering a loss to Uriah Hall in April 2021. Infamously, the former champion broke his leg seconds into the bout against ‘Prime Time’.

Ciryl Gane plans to take his time to get to another title shot. Back in March, Gane suffered a first-round submission loss to Jon Jones for the heavyweight belt. The setback marked the second time he failed on his bid to become the undisputed champion. It was a disappointing loss for Gane given he’s now 1-2 in his last three, with his last two losses coming for the belt.

He then earned a contract on the Contender Series, but he lost three straight fights to Raoni Barcelos, Shane Burgos, and Thiago Moises and was cut again.

Last weekend in the main event of UFC Singapore, Max Holloway knocked out The Korean Zombie. It came in the wake of his win over Arnold Allen which, in itself, was a big moment for ‘Blessed’ as it allowed him to get back in the win column.

Earlier this year, Jon Jones returned to the Octagon after three years away and captured the UFC heavyweight championship. Prior to that, though, his last bout came in February 2020 when he defended his light heavyweight title against Dominick Reyes. It was a close, intense bout and in the eyes of many, Reyes did enough to secure the win and the belt.

According to Dana White, one name to remember is former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar. Brock Lesnar last competed in July 2016, defeating Mark Hunt before ultimately getting suspended for PEDs, which turned the fight into a no-contest.
