Dana White shuts down talk of Corey Anderson vs. Jon Jones

Corey Anderson has been trying to get a fight against UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones for a while now, but according to UFC president Dana White, that’s not happening anytime soon. White said Saturday night following UFC 240 that he will not grant Anderson his request to fight Jones for the title next.

Frankie Edgar came up short in what was his third attempt to become a two division UFC champion tonight against Max Holloway. The New Jersey native gave the Hawaiian champion a tough twenty-five minute battle, but there was no question that after five rounds of action Holloway had done enough to earn a unanimous decision victory.

Max Holloway put his UFC featherweight title on the line in tonight’s main event against Frankie Edgar. “Blessed” Holloway looked to bounce back from his recent loss against Dustin Poirier. Dustin and Max went all five rounds at UFC 236 for the promotions interim lightweight title, but “The Diamond” Poirier gained the victory over Holloway via an explosive unanimous decision win. That was the first defeat for the Hawaiian since his 2013 loss against Conor McGregor.

Tonight at UFC 240, Felicia Spencer put her undefeated record on the line against UFC veteran Cris Cyborg. Former featherweight champion (20-2-0) Cris Cyborg returned to the octagon for the first time since being defeated in December 2018 at UFC 232. The reigning two-division champ, Amanda Nunes KO’d Cyborg during the first round of that contest. UFC 232 was only the second time Cyborg has lost in her 14 year career as a professional fighter.

UFC president Dana White has commented on the alleged Jon Jones strip club incident after viewing video footage of it, and he believes that the UFC light heavyweight champion’s legal outlook looks positive in his favor. Speaking to TSN’s Aaron Bronsteter, White said that he’s seen videos of the alleged incident, and he believes Jones is in a good spot going forward with his legal matters.

Man jailed for using photo of Cody Garbrandt on Tinder in Catfish Scam

A Welsh supermarket worker has been jailed after using a photo of former UFC champ Cody Garbrandt in a Tinder catfish scam. According to police reports obtained by MMAJunkie, 30-year-old Paul Davies used a photo of Cody Garbrandt as his Tinder profile under a phony name, Aaron Edwards, this while posing as a successful businessman who worked as a regional manager for Audi and lived in a sweet penthouse apartment.
