Adesanya (22-1 MMA) successfully defended his 185lbs title with a unanimous decision victory over Robert Whittaker (23-6 MMA) in the main event of UFC 271 last night in Houston, Texas.

Tai Tuivasa has decided to shoot his shot. ‘Bam Bam’ has stated that he’s down to fight former UFC light heavyweight champion, Jon Jones, after UFC 271. The former 205lb titleholder is expected to move up in weight and fight later this year. Tuivasa is currently scheduled to fight Derrick Lewis this Saturday. A win would put the Australian near the front of the line in terms of getting a title shot. However, it appears that Tuivasa seemingly has other plans rather than fighting for the title.

After Ngannou defeated Ciryl Gane by decision to defend his heavyweight title for the first time, Jones said he wasn’t impressed with his performance. However, it should be noted that Ngannou fought with a torn MCL among other knee injuries, which Cormier says impacted him and why “Bones” shouldn’t criticize the heavyweight champion’s performance.

Francis can knock him out, he can hit him with a shot. Ciryl can knock him out. Anyone can get knocked out. But, if you are looking at these guys fighting, (if) they fight 10 times, Jon Jones is definitely gonna win 9 out of 10 times.”
