UFC light-heavyweight contender Jan Blachowicz wants to end his career as a champion. The 42-year-old hasn’t been seen since his meeting with Alex Pereira in July 2023. That night saw Jan Blachowicz take down the future UFC champion several times, but ultimately gas out doing so. After 15 minutes of action, it was ‘Poatan’ who emerged with a split-decision victory. The defeat was a brutal one for the former champion, who would then sit out the next two years due to a devastating shoulder injury.

Aspinall holds the interim gold and he also has a successful defense. Something has got to give at heavyweight, and UFC CEO Dana White has guaranteed that he will make Jones vs. Aspinall a reality this year.

At the age of 41, Jan Blachowicz is still seen as a contender in the UFC’s light heavyweight division. He’s lost just two of his last nine outings, with his most recent appearance being a tight split decision defeat to Alex Pereira. Following that bout, he was set for a rematch against Aleksandar Rakic, but he was forced to pull out as he required shoulder surgery.

Blachowicz is set for shoulder surgery, hopefully in the next week or two, he revealed to BJPENN.com on Friday.
