Floyd Mayweather couldn’t knock out Logan Paul in their recent exhibition boxing match because he was “too big,” says uncle Jeff Mayweather. Mayweather, who is universally regarded as one of the greatest boxers of all time, fought Paul for eight rounds in an exhibition bout in June in Miami. The fight was entertaining at times, but it didn’t produce the highlight-reel knockout that fans were hoping for given the skill gap between Mayweather and Paul. But while Mayweather wasn’t able to get the finishing blow, it wasn’t for a lack of trying, said his uncle on the Champ and the Chump.

Evans recently announced that he is returning to combat sports after spending the last several years away in retirement. “Suga” is planning on making his comeback in the boxing ring, and he has already zeroed in on Paul as a potential opponent. Paul is coming off of an exhibition bout with Floyd Mayweather and Evans would represent another big name on his resume if he is interested in the fight. Speaking to MMAFighting.com, Evans explained why he is the ideal opponent for Paul and why his opponent should sign on to fight him.

Former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley is training with legendary boxer Floyd Mayweather ahead of the upcoming Jake Paul boxing match. Mayweather last month told the media that he was inviting Woodley to come to Las Vegas to work with him ahead of the Paul fight on August 28. Woodley said that he was going to take up Mayweather on the offer, and he’s done just that. On Thursday, “The Chosen One” took to his social media to reveal that he is training with Mayweather and shared photos.

Jake Paul donated $5000 to the GoFundMe for UFC fighter Sarah Alpar, adding “imagine a rookie in the NBA had to start a GoFundMe to play.” Earlier this week, Alpar let her fans know that she was starting a fundraiser in order to raise money for fight camp expenses. The 30-year-old Alpar fought on Dana White’s Contender Series in 2019 and made it to the UFC with a submission win over Shanna Young. She then made her UFC debut in September 2020 and lost via third-round TKO to Jessica-Rose Clark. Alpar then had two fights fall apart for May 2021 against Stephanie Egger and Lupita Godinez, before finally being re-booked for her second UFC fight when she faces off against prospect Erin Blanchfield, but that won’t take place until Septmber.

Paul meets Woodley on August 28 in a professional boxing match promoted by Showtime PPV. For Paul, it’s his fourth pro boxing match and he earned the opportunity to fight a big name in the world of combat sports in Woodley after defeating his longtime friend and training partner Ben Askren in his last outing. For Woodley, after losing four straight fights in the UFC he was released and chose to fight Paul and earn a big payday in the process. This summer’s blockbuster PPV is expected to make both men several million dollars.

New video footage shows that YouTuber-turned-boxer Logan Paul told Floyd Mayweather to “take it easy” during their exhibition boxing match. Paul and Mayweather met on June 6 at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida in an eight-round exhibition match between the popular YouTube star and the boxing legend. Although Paul was able to tough it out and survive the full eight rounds with Mayweather, he did take a beating during the fight and would have lost a decision had it been considered a professional boxing match with judges. Since it was just an exhibition bout, there were no judges, so there was no official winner or loser of their boxing match.

Pound-for-pound boxing great Manny Pacquiao is reportedly facing a lawsuit after allegedly breaching his contract to fight Errol Spence Jr. According to Lance Pugmire of The Athletic, manager Audie Attar — who also manages UFC superstar Conor McGregor — filed a breach-of-contract lawsuit against the legendary boxing champion Manny Pacquiao. The report states that Attar is seeking to recoup a $3.3 million advance and requesting an injunction to stop Pacquiao’s scheduled Aug. 21 welterweight title fight against Errol Spence Jr. In the lawsuit, Attar says that he was negotiating a matchup between Pacquiao and Mikey Garcia. Allegedly, Pacquiao left Paradigm to work with Al Haymon’s Premier Boxing Champions and fight Spence Jr.

It was another incredible performance by “The One,” who proved once again that he is one of the hardest P4P punchers in the world right now. Lomachenko was making his first appearance in the boxing ring since losing his lightweight titles last year to Teofimo Lopez in an upset. Against Nakatani, Lomachenko got right back to work as he looked unbelievable in this fight against the Japanese boxer, lighting him up with strikes and then finally finishing him in spectacular fashion in the ninth round of the fight when Nakatani was no longer able to defend himself and the ref stopped the fight. Shields made her MMA debut earlier this month when she finished Brittany Elkin via third-round TKO for a successful first foray into mixed martial arts. It wasn’t an easy fight for Shields, who struggled with her takedown defense for the first two rounds of the fight as Elkin dominated her on the mat. However, Shields was able to conserve her gas tank, and when Elkin started to get tired in the third round of the fight, Shields started to unload massive ground and pound on her opponent and pick up the first win of her MMA career.

For the past decade, these two pillars of Brazilian combat sports have been going back and forth with each other and a rematch has always been something that the fans have wanted to see. But with both men no longer in the UFC, a rematch in MMA doesn’t seem likely anytime soon. However, now that both men are back in the world of boxing, it seems possible that a rematch between the two legends of the sport could take place in boxing.

Anderson Silva praised boxing star Canelo Alvarez following his win over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., saying “I can’t believe Canelo spoke to me.” Silva won a split decision over Chavez Jr. in his return to the boxing ring for the first time in 16 years. “The Spider” looked fast and elusive in the fight and showed off his trademark striking skills, leading him to pick up the upset win. Though Chavez Jr. is a Mexican-based fighter and Alvarez is as well, following the fight the boxing superstar entered the Octagon and gave his respects to Silva for picking up the biggest win of his boxing career.
