Former UFC title contender Taila Santos has given her thoughts on her unexpected release from the promotion. Following her bout with Valentina Shevchenko, many felt as if Taila Santos was the rightful UFC women’s flyweight champion. Alas, she didn’t get the nod on the scorecards, and she went on to lose to Erin Blanchfield last summer. From there, she was released by the UFC, which left many feeling confused as she was seen as a top fighter in the division.

Former women’s boxing champion Savannah Marshall will make her PFL debut on June 8th. ‘The Silent Assassin’ is currently one of the bigger names in women’s boxing. A former Olympian, Savannah Marshall has found massive success in the professional ranks. She earned her first world title in October 2020 and kept on winning. Eventually, she set the stage for a rematch of sorts with Claressa Shields.

MMA legend Cris Cyborg has refuted the idea that her relationship with PFL boss Donn Davis is in a positive place. For years now, Cris Cyborg has been known as one of the biggest female stars in the history of mixed martial arts. Her resume speaks for itself, and now, she’s also kickstarted a venture into the world of boxing.

PFL’s Donn Davis is ready to make a big splash in free agency, and that could involve Conor McGregor. ‘The Notorious’ is currently hoping to return to the cage this summer, against Michael Chandler. In recent weeks, Conor McGregor has opened up on a lot about his MMA future. The former UFC champion has even revealed that he only has two more fights with the Dana White-led company on his deal.

PFL star Cedric Doumbe feels that his loss to Baissangour Chamsoudinov was thanks to Marc Goddard. Late last week, the former Glory Kickboxing champion returned to the PFL cage. Last September, Cedric Doumbe fought in the Donn Davis-led promotion, in a heavily-hyped debut. There, the welterweight faced fellow unbeaten prospect Jordan Zebo, knocking him out in nine seconds.

Cedric Doumbe suffered a third-round stoppage in odd fashion on Thursday at PFL Europe 1. Doumbe was headlining the card against Baysangur Chamsoudinov, in a fight the Frenchman was a betting favorite in. The fight was competitive early on and many had it one-to-one going into the third round.

PFL heavyweight contender Francis Ngannou only has a few more years of fighting left in him. ‘The Predator’ is currently slated to return to the ring this Friday night, in Saudi Arabia. There, Francis Ngannou will face former two-time heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua. The boxing match will be the second of the former UFC star’s career, making his ring debut against Tyson Fury last October.

AJ McKee always knew he was going to re-sign with Bellator. McKee is the former Bellator featherweight champion and was recently a free agent but opted to re-sign with the promotion. McKee says he is a loyal person and wanted to continue to be the face of Bellator going forward.

Jake Paul has revealed that he’d be interested in battling UFC veteran Tony Ferguson in a mixed martial arts bout. For the longest time now, fans have been calling for Tony Ferguson to retire. Alas, even after his most recent defeat to Paddy Pimblett, ‘El Cucuy’ refuses to go quietly into the night. Instead, he’s suggested that he plans on fighting until the wheels fall off.

Former UFC women’s flyweight title challenger Taila Santos is now with the PFL. The Brazilian fighter had a bit of a strange UFC run. Taila Santos, much like most fighters in the organization today, came in through the Dana White Contender Series in late 2018. While she debuted with a loss against Mara Romero Borella, the women’s flyweight contender quickly found success.

Josh Thomson is explaining why Francis Ngannou will likely try and ‘wrestle’ PFL knockout-artist Renan Ferreira. Ngannou (17-3 MMA), the former UFC heavyweight champion, hasn’t competed in the MMA since defeating Ciryl Gane (12-2 MMA) by unanimous decision back in January of 2022 at UFC 270.

UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones is confident that he will one day meet PFL star Francis Ngannou. ‘Bones’ appeared at PFL vs. Bellator over the weekend in Saudi Arabia. However, Jon Jones was there seemingly in a ceremonial role, as he was still healing from a torn pec. The heavyweight champion suffered the injury preparing for a fight with Stipe Miocic last fall and is expected to be out of action for most of this year.

Johnny Eblen (14-0) is the current Bellator middleweight champion and coming off a third-round TKO win over Fabian Edwards to defend his title for the second time. Eblen won the title back in June of 2022 when he beat Gegard Mousasi by a lopsided decision. In his career, he holds notable wins over John Salter, Anatoly Tokov, and Collin Huckbody.

Thiago Santos (22-11 and one No Contest) is coming off a decision loss to Rob Wilkinson back in April in his PFL debut which was later overturned to a No Contest after the Aussie failed a drug test. Before that, the Brazilian suffered a TKO loss to Jamahal Hill and a decision loss to Magomed Ankalaev.

A massive MMA event goes down on Saturday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia as PFL vs. Bellator champions face each other, in the first event since their merger. An 11-fight card goes down headlined by a heavyweight fight between PFL champ Renan Ferreira and Bellator champ Ryan Bader. Ferreira (12-3 and three No Contests) is coming off a second-round knockout win over Denis Goltsov in November to win the 2023 PFL heavyweight season. The Brazilian is 6-1 with three No Contests in PFL as he has notable wins over Maurice Greene, Matheus Scheffel, and Jamelle Jones among others in his career.

Tommy Fury and Jake Paul could be fighting again, but this time in MMA. Fury and Paul boxed last February with the Brit winning by split decision. Since then, Paul has been adamant he wants the rematch, and his team has reportedly offered Fury a two-fight rematch, but it has a unique clause.

Francis Ngannou will be returning to MMA and make his PFL debut. Following Ngannou becoming a free agent, he signed with PFL but said he would be exploring boxing fights first. He ended up getting a boxing match against Tyson Fury, which he lost by split decision, and will return to the boxing ring on March 8 in Saudi Arabia against Anthony Joshua.

The PFL vs. Bellator card is now finalized and features the return of Patricio Pitbull. Last November, the PFL completed their long-awaited buyout of Bellator. For most of 2023, there were discussions about the Scott Coker-led brand being bought. In the end, Donn Davis and the company decided that a roster containing the likes of the aforementioned Patricio Pitbull and Cris Cyborg was too good to pass up.
