After Dricus du Plessis was able to defeat Robert Whittaker, Adesanya got into the cage and engaged in some intense trash talk with the South African. It included him using some controversial language, with many believing that it was a fairly awkward/uncomfortable encounter.

Khamzat Chimaev says he will be fighting someone better than Paulo Costa. Costa was supposed to take on Ikram Aliskerov at UFC 291 but reports have come out that the Brazilian is out of the matchup. He then took to Twitter to say he is out of the fight to fight Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 294 in Abu Dhabi.

That was Kevin Lee’s first fight back with the company after a 2021 release, and it’ll be his final. Following the first-round submission defeat, the lightweight contender announced his retirement.

After Volkanovski defended his featherweight title back at UFC 290 with a TKO win over Yair Rodriguez, he revealed he was a bit banged up and would likely need surgery. On Tuesday, Volkanovski announced on his social media that his surgery on his shoulder was successful.

Islam Makhachev is hoping to fight Leon Edwards next time out. Makhachev is the UFC’s reigning lightweight champ and is coming off a decision win over Alexander Volkanovski back in February. As well, with Charles Oliveira saying he won’t be ready in October, there is no clear-cut next contender for Makhachev to defend his belt against.
