Dan Hooker forced out of UFC Austin fight against Bobby Green

Dan Hooker will no longer be fighting Bobby Green at UFC Austin. According to New Zealand Herald’s Christopher Reive, Hooker has suffered an arm injury which has forced him to pull out of his UFC Austin co-main event fight against Bobby Green. The UFC is now reportedly looking for a new opponent to replace Hooker and fight Green on 10 days’ notice.

The historic event had a lot of good, but also a lot of bad. Famously, the main event between Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones was derailed during fight week due to ‘Bones’ failing a USADA drug test. Both wins were important for the Hawaiian, helping him get back on track after a loss to Alexander Volkanovski last summer.

Back in November 2020, Allen and Strickland shared the Octagon in a 195-pound catchweight bout. Allen was riding a seven-fight winning streak going into the bout, but he had to get back on the horse after being stopped by Strickland via second-round TKO. Since that fight, Allen has gone 8-1, including a recent submission victory over Paul Craig.
