But according to Ben Askren, the ‘Stockton Slapper’ won’t be getting a title shot any time soon. Joe Lauzon pulled off a stunning upset when he defeated Jonathan Pearce via first-round TKO in just 1:33. The win snapped Lauzon’s three-fight losing streak and it was his first win in the Octagon since 2017.

The main event of BKFC 8 didn’t last long as former UFC heavyweight contender Gabriel Gonzaga knocked out fellow MMA veteran Antonio Silva. Gonzaga and Silva were scheduled for five rounds of action, but Gonzaga needed just two rounds to finish Silva. The win was Gonzaga’s first in BKFC. Although he’s 40-years-old, the Brazilian MMA legend still possesses a ton of knockout power and showed that against Silva in this fight. It was Gonzaga’s first victory in bare-knuckle fighting.

Dominick Reyes was looking to stay undefeated in the main event of UFC Boston. There, he was taking on former middleweight champion, Chris Weidman who was moving up to the light heavyweight division. It was a critical fight for both, as whoever won had a good chance of fighting Jon Jones for the title next. In the end, it was Reyes who got his hand raised as he knocked out Weidman in the first round. A stiff left dropped the former champ and Reyes finished him off with ground strikes.
