In the main event of UFC Vegas 69, Erin Blanchfield headlined her first UFC event as she took on Jessica Andrade – who stepped up on short notice at women’s flyweight. Blanchfield was supposed to face Taila Santos but a week out the Brazilian withdrew and Andrade stepped up. Blanchfield entered the fight being a perfect 4-0 in the UFC and was coming off a submission win over Molly McCann. Andrade, meanwhile, had picked up a lopsided decision win over Lauren Murphy at UFC 283.

UFC Vegas 69 winner Erin Blanchfield has explained why she accepted a fight with Jessica Andrade on short notice. Blanchfield was scheduled to fight Taila Santos, but Santos was removed, and Andrade took her place. Blanchfield ended up scoring the second-round submission victory via rear-naked choke.

UFC President Dana White has unearthed up-close photos of Evan Elder’s cut, and it’s not a pretty sight. This past Saturday night (February 18), UFC Vegas 69 emanated from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. On the featured preliminary bout, Elder took on Nazim Sadykhov in a lightweight tilt. The two had an exciting scrap that ended in the third round via doctor’s stoppage. Elder had a gnarly gash on his eyebrow during the fight, and the Octagon-side doctor had seen enough.

BKFC has fired back at Sean Strickland over his recent criticism of the promotion. This past Saturday night, BKFC held its Knucklemania 3 event inside the Tingley Coliseum in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In the main event, Lorenzo Hunt and Mike Richman collided for the undisputed BKFC Light Heavyweight Championship. Hunt, who walked in as the main champion, proved that he’s the top dog in BKFC’s light heavyweight division. He scored a first-round knockout win over Richman to unify the gold.

Former UFC fighter Diego Sanchez believes his BKFC Knucklemania 3 loss to Austin Trout had some foul play. Sanchez and Trout did battle inside the Tingley Coliseum in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA this past Friday night. Going into the bout, Sanchez was a massive betting underdog, given that Trout is a former WBA super-welterweight titleholder and the fight was contested under bare-knuckle boxing rules. The oddsmakers were proven correct, as Trout earned the fourth-round TKO finish via doctor’s stoppage.

The Octagon returned to Nevada for tonight’s UFC Vegas 69 event, an eleven-bout fight card headlined by Jessica Andrade vs. Erin Blanchfield. The women’s flyweight main event proved to be a coming out party for Erin Blanchfield. The 23-year-old went toe-to-toe with the hard-hitting Brazilian for the first five minutes of the contest. Then in round two, Blanchfield was able to score an early takedown and quickly proceeded to take the back of the former strawweight champion. She proceeded to lock-up a rear-naked choke which forced Andrade to tapout.
