Jorge Masvidal has teased a showdown with Jake Paul after seemingly running into him at the Betr Warehouse recently. As many fans know, Jorge Masvidal is now retired from mixed martial arts. He finally walked away from the sport following his loss to Gilbert Burns, riding off into the sunset on his own terms. Outside of fighting, of course, he has his own business ventures, many of which he’s been building since he first caught fire in 2019.

UFC fighter Charles Oliveira is hoping to break his Canadian curse this weekend when he returns to action at UFC 289. Following his defeat to Islam Makhachev last year, fans have been eagerly awaiting the return of Charles Oliveira. The man known as ‘Do Bronx’ is still a real threat at lightweight, and he wants to prove that on a big PPV stage.

Kyle Nelson gets to fight in his home country of Canada once again. Nelson made his UFC debut at UFC 231 in Toronto on short notice against Diego Ferreira. Since then, he hasn’t fought back in Canada – in large part due to the promotion not having an event in the country since 2019 – so he’s eager to get the chance to fight in his home Nation again.

Ali Abdelaziz and Dillon Danis had a heated back-and-forth on social media on Wednesday. Danis and Abdelaziz have never seen eye-to-eye due to Danis’ relationship with Conor McGregor, and Abdelaziz managing Khabib Nurmagomedov. To no surprise, after Islam Makhachev questioned why he didn’t have a blue check anymore, Danis took a dig at him.

UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya is seemingly thankful to end his rivalry with Jon Jones. ‘The Last Stylebender’ and ‘Bones’ have been at odds for years, especially since Adesanya’s rise to championship status in 2019. For a few years, there was brief talk of a potential fight between the two. However, that talk ended when Jones announced his plans to move up to heavyweight.

The UFC has parted ways with an additional eight fighters according to @UFCRosterWatch on Twitter. It’s worth noting that a fighter can part ways with the promotion for a multitude of reasons. Those reasons can include being cut due to poor performance, inactivity, fighting out their contract, and more. These eight fighters haven’t been confirmed to be cut from the promotion, but have been removed from the company’s website. Furthermore, they could return to the UFC in the future.

Charles Oliveira is confident he will get another finish at UFC 289. Oliveira is set to return to the Octagon in the co-main event against Beneil Dariush in a pivotal fight at lightweight as the winner could very well get the next title shot. The Brazilian also enters the scrap having lost to Islam Makhachev last October for the lightweight belt and now that he is no longer the champ, he says that is motivating him.

Daniel Cormier believes Dan Henderson is the greatest fighter to never win a UFC title. ‘DC’ discussed the subject in a recent edition of his podcast alongside Ryan Clark. There, the two counted down the five greatest fighters to never hold gold in the promotion. Naturally, names such as Urijah Faber, Gray Maynard, and more, were all named in the top five.

Chris Weidman won’t be shying away from throwing a leg kick at UFC 292. Weidman is set to return to make his highly-anticipated return after breaking his leg as he will face Brad Tavares at UFC 292 in Boston. The fight comes over two years after he suffered a horrific injury after throwing a leg kick against Uriah Hall at UFC 261. Since then, he has been rehabbing his leg which has taken longer than expected.

Brandon Royval is reacting after Dana White says ‘there’s no guarantees that anybody’s next’ for the UFC flyweight title. Royval (15-6 MMA) has won 3 in a row in the Octagon, most recently defeating Matheus Nicolau (19-3 MMA) by knockout in the first round this past April.

Henry Cejudo names the greatest bantamweight in UFC history alongside his next move within the division. Cejudo is coming off a split-decision loss to the division’s champion Aljamain Sterling at UFC 288. The fight marked the Olympic gold medalist’s first fight since retiring in 2020.

Former UFC champion Rashad Evans is explaining why he’s picking Michael Chandler to defeat Conor McGregor. Michael Chandler (23-8 MMA) and Conor McGregor (22-6 MMA) are reportedly going to fight in the Octagon sometime after the conclusion of Season 31 of ‘The Ultimate Fighter’, where they are opposing coaches. TUF 31 is airing now and concludes mid-August, however a date and location for the Chandler vs McGregor match-up has yet to be confirmed by the UFC.

The founder of the highly successful PRIME sports drink, Logan Paul, announced earlier this week that Israel Adesanya and Alexander Volkanovski have become the ‘first official PRIME athletes.’

Sergio Pettis has got his eyes set on a second world title if he’s able to get past Patricio ‘Pitbull’ Freire at Bellator 297. Next weekend in Chicago, Sergio Pettis will go head to head with Patricio Pitbull. He’ll be defending his Bellator bantamweight championship against a man who is widely considered to be the best fighter in Bellator history. If Pitbull is able to secure the win, he’ll also become the first man to be a three-weight champion in a major organization.

UFC commentator Jon Anik believes Kai Kara-France did enough to defeat Amir Albazi during their main event collision last weekend. The flyweight battle between Kai Kara-France and Amir Albazi was a technical, entertaining clash on Saturday night. However, while many would’ve preferred to focus on the quality of the bout, there’s been a lot of controversy surrounding the scoring.

Whenever he’s called out regarding a particular topic, the boss often doesn’t respond in a very cordial way. He doesn’t particularly care who he offends in the process, as we’ve seen time and time again in interviews.

Dan Ige is fine with fighting another unranked opponent. Ige snapped his three-fight losing skid back in January with a KO win over Damon Jackson and will now face Nate Landwehr at UFC 289. After Ige’s win, he says he wanted to return in June and in front of fans, which is exactly what he got.
