UFC flyweight contender Kai Kara-France lost a lot more than a decision on Saturday night. ‘Don’t Blink’ returned to the octagon over the weekend against Amir Albazi. The bout was Kara-France’s first since his knockout loss to Brandon Moreno at UFC 277 last July. That bout saw ‘The Assassin Baby’ claim interim flyweight gold, but the New Zealander was confident he could return to the title picture with a win.

Just a few months prior to that bout, Pereira captured the gold with a fifth-round stoppage win over ‘The Last Stylebender’. However, the former middleweight champion got his revenge at UFC 288.

The UFC continues to part ways with fighters and trim its roster. On Monday, the Twitter account UFC Roster Watch which tracks the UFC roster and who has been added and removed – revealed six fighters have been let go. According to the account, Makwan Amirkhani, Trevin Jones, Tony Gravley, Batgerel Danaa, Omar Morales, and Ilir Latifi have all been revealed removed from the roster.

Tyson Fury has responded after Francis Ngannou sent him a message claiming he will ‘be ready’ when the call comes to fight. The previous UFC heavyweight champion, Francis Ngannou (17-3 MMA) and the UFC parted ways back in January of this year. With the departure came the loss of the belt, but also free agency. ‘The Predator’ has indicated his interest in getting in the boxing ring for quite a while now.

The win was controversial at best, with the majority of the media and fellow fighters scoring the fight against the Brit.

He was scheduled to take on Jim Miller, just a few weeks on from his controversial fight with Bobby Green that left him with a concussion following an accidental headbutt. Unfortunately, that same injury was revealed by Gordon earlier on in the week. This caused his bout being pulled from the card.

The bout served as the main event of UFC Vegas 74. Albazi scored the split nod, although analysts and fans alike feel that Kara-France deserved the win. Albazi is now riding a six-fight winning streak and has won five of those fights under the UFC banner.

The Octagon remained in Nevada for tonight’s UFC Vegas 74 event, a 13-bout fight card headlined by Kai Kara-France vs. Amir Albazi. Tonight’s men’s flyweight main event went the full twenty-five minutes. It was a back-and-forth affair that many fans and analysts had tied 2-2 headed into the fifth and final round. Although Kai Kara-France appeared to land the better volume of strikes throughout the final five minutes, it did not prove to be enough to get him the victory. Two of the three judges in attendance scored the contest in favor of Albazi, who walked away with the split decision win.
