The UFC finally returned to Canada for the first time since 2019 as the promotion headed to Vancouver, British Columbia for UFC 289. In the main event, Amanda Nunes was looking to defend her bantamweight title against Irene Aldana who took the fight on short notice after Julianna Pena was forced out of the scrap. The co-main event saw a pivotal lightweight bout go down as Charles Oliveira took on Beneil Dariush.
Jamahal Hill says it's "next man up" as Jiri Prochazka title fight keeps getting delayed

Jamahal Hill is ready to move on from Jiri Prochazka. Back in January, Hill became the UFC’s light heavyweight champion as he beat Glover Teixeira by decision to win the vacant title. Since then, he has been adamant about wanting to face Jiri Prochazka, who is the former champ that had to vacate the belt due to a shoulder injury.
Conor McGregor backs John Gotti III in his feud with Floyd Mayweather: "War is on"

Conor McGregor will be on John Gotti III’s side. On Sunday, Gotti III was boxing Floyd Mayweather in an exhibition match and the MMA fighter was disqualified for constantly grabbing the undefeated boxer. After the ref made the decision, all hell broke loose as the two teams jumped into the ring and a brawl started.
UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev says the BMF title is for bums

Islam Makhachev has taken aim at the BMF belt. Makhachev is the current UFC lightweight champion, but in the main event of UFC 291, two of the top 155lbs contenders in Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje are set to collide for the BMF belt. Many fans have mixed feelings on the belt and Makhachev says the BMF belt is for bums.

UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya believes his story with Jon Jones isn’t over. ‘The Last Stylebender’ is currently awaiting his next title challenger. In April, he scored a second-round knockout win over Alex Pereira to re-earn UFC gold. While there was brief talk of a trilogy bout, ‘Poatan’ later announced plans to move to light-heavyweight, with his debut slated for July.

However, in their rematch, it was one-way traffic, as the Brazilian won by a lopsided unanimous decision.

Islam Makhachev will once again be the betting favorite over Charles Oliveira. At UFC 280, Makhachev opened as a -300 betting favorite and closed around -245 in a fight he ended up winning by second-round submission. Since then, Makhchev beat Alexander Volkanovski to defend his belt while Oliveira returned to the win column at UFC 289 with a first-round TKO win over Beneil Dariush.

It was just this past Saturday, June 10th, that saw Miranda ‘Fear The’ Maverick (11-5 MMA) get in the cage with Jasmine Jasudavicius (9-2 MMA) in a flyweight bout. The ultimate result was a unanimous decision win for the 34-year-old Jasudavicius.

Beneil Dariush was on the wrong end of a TKO finish at UFC 289, and he’s spoken out about it. Dariush shared the Octagon with former UFC Lightweight Champion Charles Oliveira on June 10. The bout served as the co-main event for UFC 289. This one ended in the opening frame as Oliveira had his opponent on wobbly legs after a barrage of strikes on the feet. Eventually, “do Bronx” dropped Dariush and finished him on the ground for the first-round TKO win.

Former UFC and Strikeforce veteran Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva has finally decided to call it a career. Silva was in action for Kingdom Fighting 1 recently. He took on Salim El Ouassaidi. Silva was hoping for his first win since August 2015, but it wasn’t meant to be. Silva had been on the receiving end of some brutal finishing losses going into this fight. He wasn’t stopped in his bout with Ouassaidi, but “Bigfoot” was defeated via decision.

UFC President Dana White has offered his two cents on Charles Oliveira’s UFC 289 performance and what could be next for him. Oliveira was in action on June 10. In the co-main event of UFC 289, “do Bronx” sent Beneil Dariush crashing to the mat courtesy of his barrage of strikes. Oliveira finished Dariush off with ground and pound for the first-round TKO win. It was a historic win for Oliveira as he extended his record for most finishes in the UFC at 20.

UFC President Dana White says he isn’t surprised that Amanda Nunes is walking away from pro MMA competition. Nunes was in action in the main event of UFC 289. She put the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Championship on the line against Irene Aldana. “The Lioness” was dominant throughout the fight in her standup and wrestling. The bout went the distance and Nunes was awarded the unanimous decision victory. After the fight, the future UFC Hall of Famer left her gloves and two UFC titles on the mat and announced her retirement.
