Sergio Pettis and Patricio Pitbull locked horns in tonight’s Bellator 297 co-main event at Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Ill. Arguably the two best non-UFC lighter-weight fighters, Pettis and Pitbull were unifying their respective titles, with the winner earning the bantamweight title and a matchup with interim champion Patchy Mix. Mix had stated during an impromptu media availability Saturday night that he looked forward to watching the fight as a fan and is excited for whoever he gets to face next. Pettis was returning to the Bellator cage after nursing a knee injury, while Pitbull entered the contest sporting a 35-5 record, having fought the likes of Michael Chandler, Juan Archuleta, and AJ McKee, to name a few.

Dariush was taking on Charles Oliveira in the co-main event of the pay-per-view card and if Dariush won, he would have gotten a lightweight title shot. However, after some early success, Oliveira caught him with a head kick and then landed several punches which hurt Dariush. Once he shot for a takedown, Oliveira got on top of him and scored a first-round TKO.

The two headlined a Showtime pay-per-view card, with the Brazilian expected to serve as the YouTuber’s biggest test to date. Nonetheless, Anderson Silva suffered his second defeat in the boxing ring, this time by unanimous decision.

While Nemkov is undefeated in Bellator, Romero, 46, is looking for a spark to finally win his first-ever undisputed title and extend his own winning streak to three.

White invited the NELK Boys, a group of prominent Canadian YouTubers, to UFC headquarters to unveil its new merchandise and UFC-themed clothing line, which went on sale the day before UFC 289, taking place in Vancouver, Canada. In a now-viral TikTok posted by NELK, Kyle Forgeard, the channel’s founder and creator, was seen having a conversation with Dana White about the lack of uniqueness in the NHL’s marketing plan, stating the hockey league wants to remain distant from NELK despite its millions of followers.

In the main event of UFC 289, the Brazilian dominated en route to a lopsided decision victory.

The UFC and Miami Heat have released statements following the rape accusations against Conor McGregor. McGregor was in attendance at the NBA Finals Game 4 in Miami as he was promoting a new product and had a skit with the Heat mascot that ended up sending the costumed individual to the hospital. Apparently that was not the only McGregor-related incident to take place at the event, as earlier today TMZ Sports reported that a woman is now accusing McGregor of sexually assaulting her during the game.
