However, many MMA fans likely aren’t aware that his success wasn’t automatic. In 1997, Dwayne Johnson was famously on the outs with the company, as fans badly hated him. As a result, he began to look to a different sport.

Conor McGregor says he will be making his return at UFC 300. McGregor hasn’t fought since July of 2021 when he broke his leg in the trilogy match against Dustin Poirier. Since then, he left the USADA testing pool but has since re-entered as he’s getting close to returning to the Octagon.

It is safe to say that the hatchet between UFC legends Anderson Silva and Chael Sonnen is buried. ‘The Spider’ and ‘The American Gangster’ famously had one of the most heated rivalries in MMA history. Despite the Brazilian’s dominance at the time, his first meeting with Chael Sonnen in August 2010 was quite lopsided. The wrestler famously dominated for most of the bout, but a fifth-round submission win saw Anderson Silva retain the gold.
