Don’t expect to see Colby Covington fight Ian Garry this summer in the co-main event of UFC 303. ‘Chaos’ has been out of the octagon since yet another shot at welterweight gold in the main event of UFC 296 in December. Sadly for the former interim champion, he was soundly defeated by Leon Edwards. Colby Covington suffered a unanimous decision defeat to ‘Rocky’ late last year, but he didn’t have plans on retiring.

The boxing match between Rampage Jackson and Shannon Briggs is reportedly off. According to MMA reporter Drake Riggs, the boxing match between Briggs and Jackson will no longer be happening on June 1 in Qatar.

Covington is looking to get back on track after a loss to UFC welterweight champion Leon Edwards in December at UFC 296. Buckley’s rise up the welterweight rankings continued with a dominant win against Nursulton Ruziboev at UFC St. Louis on Saturday. He has won four fights in a row since making the full-time move back down to welterweight and is knocking on the door of the title picture.

UFC CEO Dana White has plans to start moving Fight Night cards away from the Apex. This past Saturday, the UFC made the trip to St. Louis for a show inside the Enterprise Center. It was a refreshing experience for fans, as Fight Night cards have typically been held inside the UFC Apex. as of late Almost 16,000 fans packed the arena and the announced gate was $2.47 million.

Ben Askren isn’t a fan of the talk of Jon Jones fighting Alex Pereira before he mixes it up with Tom Aspinall. Jones is the UFC Heavyweight Champion, but he hasn’t made a title defense yet despite winning the gold back in March 2023. “Bones” was scheduled to put the championship on the line against Stipe Miocic back in November 2023, but an injury derailed that plan. Tom Aspinall ended up winning the interim heavyweight gold by knocking out Sergei Pavlovich at UFC 295.

Lewis shared the Octagon with Rodrigo Nascimento in the main event of the Fight Night card this past Saturday. “The Black Beast” ended up scoring a third-round TKO finish to extend his UFC record for most knockouts at 15. It was a great way for Lewis to kick off his 2024 inside the Octagon.

Michael Bisping has praise for Joaquin Buckley following UFC St. Louis, but feels he jumped the shark during his post-fight interview. Buckley was in action this past Saturday, taking on Nursulton Ruziboev in the co-main event. Buckley didn’t let his hometown fans down, scoring a unanimous decision victory over Ruziboev. While his performance isn’t in question, Buckley has received some flak for his callout of Conor McGregor. Not only is such a fight quite the lofty goal for Buckley, but “New Mansa” even went after Conor’s bloodline.

The Octagon returned to Missouri for tonight’s UFC St. Louis event, a twelve-bout fight card headlined by Derrick Lewis vs. Rodrigo Nascimento. The highly anticipated heavyweight main event resulted in another stoppage win for the King of KO’s, Derrick Lewis. ‘The Black Beast’ was able to survive some unenviable positions on the ground in rounds one and two, but came back strong in the third frame of the fight. ‘The Black Beast’ connected with a big right early in round three which sent Rodrigo Nascimento crashing to the canvas. From there, Lewis unleashed some nasty ground and pound to force the referee to step in and call a stop to the fight.
