The MMA community has reacted to the news that Conor McGregor is out of the UFC 303 main event due to injury. The Ultimate Fighting Championship has been through some turmoil in the last few days. A parade of fights have been canceled or postponed, with the biggest being Conor McGregor vs Michael Chandler. Now, the main event of UFC 303 will see Alex Pereira defend his light heavyweight crown against Jiri Prochazka on short notice.

UFC star Khamzat Chimaev’s manager has released a statement on his withdrawal from the UFC Saudi Arabia main event. It’s been a turbulent few days for the UFC, to say the least. The promotion has been forced to shift around a parade of big fights and events, including the main event of UFC Saudi Arabia. Originally, we were supposed to see Khamzat Chimaev go one on one with Robert Whittaker. Unfortunately, that’ll no longer happen.

UFC CEO Dana White has announced the new look UFC 303 fight card for International Fight Week on June 29, which sees Alex Pereira taking on Jiri Prochazka for the light heavyweight title. UFC 303 was scheduled to be headlined by Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler. However, that fight is off and now the new main event of the pay-per-view card will be Alex Pereira defending his light heavyweight title against Jiri Prochazka, White announced on social media.

Chandler will not remain on the card and the promotion is planning to reschedule the clash for a new date.
