The Octagon returned to Las Vegas for tonight’s UFC 303 event, a thirteen-bout fight card headlined by Alex Pereira vs. Jiri Prochazka 2. The highly anticipated light heavyweight title fight rematch resulted in yet another knockout victory for the amazing sensation Alex Pereira. ‘Poatan’ scored a big knockdown in the final second of the opening round and Jiri Prochazka clearly never recovered. In the opening seconds of round two, the Brazilian landed a big head kick which sent the former RIZIN champ crashing to the canvas. From there, Pereira followed up with some heavy ground and pound which forced the referee to step in and stop the contest (see that here).

Ortega vs Lopes was supposed to take place at featherweight but on Friday the fight was moved to lightweight. Now, sources confirmed to BJPENN that Ortega is out of the fight and Ige has stepped up on short notice.

WWE sensation Shinsuke Nakamura is set to corner Rei Tsuruya at UFC 303 tonight. This evening, the Ultimate Fighting Championship will round off International Fight Week with a blockbuster event. The main card features some serious talent but in addition to that, there are also some promising newcomers who are hoping to make a name for themselves in Las Vegas. In the mix of all that, we will see the official debut of Rei Tsuruya.

Former UFC fighter James Vick suffered a brutal knockout defeat to Rafael Alves at Karate Combat last night. Back in the day, James Vick was seen as a genuine contender in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. However, following a vicious knockout defeat to Justin Gaethje, everything changed. He fell down the ladder of relevancy pretty quickly until eventually, he was released from his contract. He proceeded to test the waters outside of the promotion but for whatever reason, he’s never really been able to get back on his feet.

UFC fighter Volkan Oezdemir has challenged Jamahal Hill to a showdown at UFC Paris later this year. Over the course of the last few years, Volkan Oezdemir has had his fair share of ups and downs. As we know, he once challenged for the UFC light heavyweight championship, falling short against Daniel Cormier. Alas, following that result, he dusted himself off and got back to work. Most recently, he viciously knocked out Johnny Walker to continue building some momentum in the division.

VanZant (8-5 MMA, 0-2 BKFC) has been one of the most prominent names for the last decade or so. While she never reached the level of becoming a UFC champion, she was always popular and has a massive following on social media.

Conor McGregor isn’t staying quiet during UFC 303 fight week and is using his downtime to re-ignite his feud with Khabib Nurmagomedov. McGregor was supposed to make his highly-anticipated UFC return this weekend at UFC 303 in Las Vegas. But, a toe injury suffered during camp forced him to withdraw from the Michael Chandler fight, which is expected to be rescheduled for a later date.

According to UFC President Dana White, Conor McGregor won’t be back anytime soon. ‘The Notorious’ was set to return in the main event of UFC 303 this weekend. Conor McGregor was set to end a near three-year hiatus against fellow lightweight contender, Michael Chandler. ‘Iron’ coached The Ultimate Fighter against the Irishman, and was eager to finally step into the cage with him.

UFC women’s bantamweight contender Kayla Harrison is down to fight anybody. The former two-time PFL tournament winner finally made her UFC debut in April. At the historic UFC 300 event, Kayla Harrison faced former women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm. Despite a lot of questions about the Judoka, she passed the test with flying colors. Harrison dominated ‘The Preacher’s Daughter’ en route to a second-round stoppage victory.
