With UFC 245 is in the rear-view mirror, the next pay-per-view on the promotion’s calendar is UFC 246, which will be topped by a dynamite welterweight scrap between former two-division champion Conor McGregor and fan favorite contender Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone. During the broadcast for Saturday’s UFC 245 card, the UFC dropped its first official promo for this anticipated McGregor vs. Cerrone fight, and it definitely serves its intended purpose.

UFC president Dana White praised surging bantamweight contender Irene Aldana after a brilliant performance on the preliminary card at UFC 245. In one of the most memorable fights on the prelims, Aldana connected on a vicious left hook to drop her opponent Ketlen Vieira and pick up the biggest win of her UFC career to date. With the victory, Aldana has now won five of her last six fights overall and she could be in line to fight UFC women’s bantamweight champion, Amanda Nunes, for the belt in short order.

Following a successful defense of the UFC women’s bantamweight title at UFC 245, UFC president Dana White says Amanda Nunes may fight at featherweight next. Nunes earned her 10th straight win inside the Octagon with a dominant decision victory over Germaine de Randamie on the main card of UFC 245. She improved her overall UFC record to an incredible 12-1 with the victory, extending her record of most wins in the UFC by a female fighter.

UFC president Dana White has shared his take on the controversial split decision in the Jose Aldo vs. Marlon Moraes fight at UFC 245. The judges scored the bout 29-28, 28-29, and 29-28 in favor of Moraes via split decision. It was a very controversial decision as many felt that Aldo had done enough to win at least two rounds of the fight and therefore should have been awarded the decision nod by the judges.

UFC Hall of Famer Urijah Faber has released a statement following his brutal third-round KO loss to Petr Yan in the opening main card fight at UFC 245. Faber was beaten to the punch by his much-younger opponent for the first two round before Yan was able to connect on a massive head kick and knock Faber out in the third round. It was a devastating setback for Faber, who came out of retirement over the summer and beat Ricky Simon in an upset win at UFC Sacramento back in July to surprisingly jump back into title contention at 135lbs.

UFC welterweight contender Colby Covington has released a second statement following his fifth-round TKO loss to Kamaru Usman in the main event of UFC 245. Covington and Usman went back-and-forth for nearly five full rounds of thrilling action before Usman was eventually able to drop Covington and finish him off with strikes. He did so with less than one minute left in the fight to defend his title successfully for the first time since winning it from Tyron Woodley earlier this year at UFC 235.

Within three years, he has achieved a peppered record of wins and losses. His last fight was no different as the 28-year old went to war against Vicente Luque for fifteen minutes in August 2019. Perry ended the fight with a gruesome nose injury and a split decision loss but still proved his toughness and heart.
