Urijah Faber reveals the hilarious text message he received from Chael Sonnen following a title fight loss

Harry Kettle - January 13, 2022

UFC veteran Urijah Faber has revealed a classic interaction he had once with all-time great trash-talker Chael Sonnen. Over the years we’ve seen Urijah Faber called a lot of things by a lot of different people, with “best fighter to never win a UFC title” being one of the most popular. The 42-year-old has recently been toying with the idea of returning to the Octagon once again, more than two years on from his last appearance – a knockout loss at the hands of former UFC bantamweight champion Petr Yan.

Adam D Martin - November 16, 2021

It was a great fight by both men, but ultimately Usman got the job done. Speaking to Helen Yee in a recent interview, Faber shared his thoughts on the fight. He said that he enjoyed watching it and then he defended Covington’s personality, suggesting that he is just plating a character inside the Octagon.

Urijah Faber plans to sit down with the UFC to talk about a potential return, interested in Marlon Vera fight

Cole Shelton - August 5, 2021

Urijah Faber isn’t ruling out a return to the Octagon. Faber, the former WEC featherweight champion, is now 42-years-old and has not fought since he suffered a TKO loss to Petr Yan at UFC 245. However, the UFC Hall of Famer has always hinted at a return to the sport, and he says he plans on sitting down with the UFC to discuss that. He also knows if he were to return, it would not be for several months as he would need to get back into fight shape.

Urijah Faber wouldn't fight 'creep and P.O.S.' TJ Dillashaw unless paid better

Drake Riggs - July 26, 2021

Urijah Faber isn’t itching to return to the Octagon — but now that TJ Dillashaw is back, the possibility is there. Dillashaw made a successful return to action this past Saturday after a two-year USADA suspension. His split decision win over Cory Sandhagen topped a card that saw Faber corner three of his Team Alpha Male trained fighters. Ever since Dillashaw removed himself from Faber’s tutelage, things haven’t quite been the same between the two.

Jimmie Rivera explains why he wants to "beat the sh*t" out of Urijah Faber

Adam Martin - February 8, 2021

UFC bantamweight contender Jimmie Rivera explained why he wants to “beat the sh*t” out of his former opponent and rival Urijah Faber. Rivera and Faber first met back at UFC 203: Miocic vs. Overeem in September 2016. In a fight that marked his first true coming-out party in the UFC, Rivera won a unanimous decision over the legend Faber that night. However, he suffered a nasty eye poke during the fight and was also the victim of a low blow. Although that fight was five years ago, Rivera still holds a grudge, and of course, there is only one way to settle the score: a rematch between the two veterans.

Adam Martin - January 12, 2021

UFC Hall of Famer Urijah Faber is looking absolutely shredded at age 41 ahead of a potential return to the Octagon in 2021. Faber is the former WEC featherweight champion and he was a long-time star for the UFC during the 2010s. The California native first retired in 2016 following a decision win over Brad Pickett, but he returned to the Octagon in 2019 to make a comeback. In his return fight, Faber scored an incredible KO win over Ricky Simon in his native Sacramento. He was then booked against rising star Petr Yan but he got knocked out at UFC 245. Faber has not fought since then, and that fight was in December 2019.

Veteran UFC featherweight Cub Swanson says he is open to cross-divisional fights with Anthony Pettis, Urijah Faber, and Jose Aldo. Swanson’s return to the Octagon was recently announced as he will take on Daniel Pineda next month at UFC 256. Swanson has been a member of the UFC roster since 2011 and has been one of the top-15 ranked fighters in the division for most of that time. However, he suffered a four-fight losing skid between 2017 and 2019 before finally snapping it with a “Fight of the Night” decision win over Kron Gracie last fall.

But, those are now all sorted, and Faber will be in his corner instead of fighting.

Urijah Faber could potentially fight at UFC on ESPN 8

Tom Taylor - May 15, 2020

Fans that tuned in for this morning’s UFC on ESPN 8 weigh-ins were greeted by an unexpected face: Urijah Faber’s. Despite not being scheduled to fight on the Jacksonville, Florida event, Faber stepped onto the scale and weighed in just below the lightweight limit. Normally, this would suggest Faber is on-tap to replace any lightweights scheduled to compete on the card in the event of a last-minute shakeup. However, the UFC on ESPN on 8 lineup doesn’t feature any lightweight bouts.

Marlon Vera

Marlon Vera calls out Urijah Faber after “p**sy” Song Yadong pulls out of May 16 bout

Harry Kettle - April 30, 2020

Marlon Vera has called out Urijah Faber after his May 16 opponent, Song Yadong, pulled out of their scheduled fight. While the idea of UFC 249 going ahead on May 9 is crazy enough, what’s even crazier is that the Ultimate Fighting Championship is planning on putting two more events on in the week that follows the promotion’s return.

Urijah Faber says he would never rule out a fight against Henry Cejudo

Mike Pendleton - April 8, 2020

As he mulls a return to the UFC, Hall Of Famer Urijah Faber has some opponents in mind for the right price, and also has taken notice of bantamweight champion, Henry Cejudo. Cejudo became the fourth double-champ in UFC history when he defeated Marlon Moraes for the vacant bantamweight title at UFC 238 while he was already holding the flyweight title. There’s a long history between Faber and Cejudo, who happen to get some time in together back in 2009, when Cejudo was first getting started in MMA. Since then, the two have gone back-and-forth in recent social media interactions, but Faber says he has respect for “Triple C”.

Adam Martin - April 7, 2020

UFC Hall of Famer Urijah Faber says he is not officially retired and he would consider taking another fight in the Octagon under the right circumstances. Faber last competed at UFC 245 in December where he suffered a vicious knockout loss to Petr Yan. It was Faber’s second fight back after a short-lived retirement, having knocked out Ricky Simon in his comeback fight. But the Yan knockout loss was a huge setback for Faber and the way he lost led to some suggesting he should hang his gloves back up.

Faber has fought Cruz three times, with Cruz winning two of those fights, so he would know better than anyone just how capable “The Dominator” is at 135lbs. Right now, Henry Cejudo is the UFC bantamweight champion and former UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo is next in line for the belt when he gets his title shot at UFC 250 in May.

Urijah Faber had 'so much fun' in Petr Yan scrap, not opposed to fighting again

Cole Shelton - December 16, 2019

Urijah Faber came up short against Petr Yan last weekend but he enjoyed every second of the fight. Yet, that did not happen as Yan knocked Faber out with a head kick in the third round. The UFC Hall of Famer was also dropped numerous times in the fight.
