A UFC middleweight clash between rising contenders Michel Pereira and Anthony Hernandez is reportedly in the works for UFC 306. Pereira announced in a since-deleted social media post that he and Hernandez will feature on the UFC’s upcoming Las Vegas Sphere card on September 14th. MMA journalist Laerte Viana later confirmed the targeted booking after Pereira deleted his announcement.

Rising UFC middleweight Shara Magomedov wants to make Michel Pereira pay for his public support of Israel. Magomedov was scheduled to face Ihor Potieria at UFC Saudi Arabia on June 22nd. But, the fight was canceled after Potieria was booked as a short-notice replacement to face Pereira at UFC 301 earlier this month.

Pereira earned another middleweight win by defeating Ihor Potieria by first-round knockout at UFC 301 earlier this month. The fight was called off after Thompson refused to fight Pereira for not fulfilling the terms of the bout agreement. Pereira was matched up with Andre Petroski for the main card of UFC Vegas 81.

Last weekend, Stephen Thompson was scheduled to lock horns with Michel Pereira at UFC 291. Unfortunately, as a result of Pereira missing weight, the contest was called off. It seems as if there was talk of the bout still going ahead, but Thompson didn’t want to take that risk, which is what he did when Darren Till missed weight for their collision at UFC Liverpool a few years back.
