UFC Houston Results: Michel Pereira defeats Zachary Reese (Highlights)

We have you covered for all of tonight’s UFC Houston results, including the middleweight bout between Michel Pereira and Zachary Reese.
Pereira (32-14 MMA) will enter the bout with hopes of snapping a three-fight losing skid. ‘Demolidor’ has suffered setbacks to Anthony Hernandez, Abus Magomedov and Kyle Daukaus in his three most recent Octagon appearances. Prior to that rough stretch, Pereira had strung together eight straight wins, five of which came by way of stoppage.
Meanwhile, Zachary Reese (10-3 MMA) was most previously seen in action this past November, where he earned a submission victory over Jackson McVey. ‘Savage’ has gone 4-1 with one no-contest over his past six fights overall.

Round one of this UFC Houston main card middleweight matchup begins and Michel Pereira is able to score an early knockdown with a nice punch over the top. Zachary Reese appears to be ok and ‘Demolidor’ opts to let him stand back up. The fighters exchange kicks and Pereira complains of a low blow. The referee steps in and pauses the action. Upon replay the kick appeared to be legal. Nevertheless, we restart. Reese continues to work his kicks. A low kick and then one to the body. Another nice body kick from Zach. The Brazilian returns fire with a jab to the body. Another two low kicks from Reese and once again Pereira signals one was low. Again, the replay appears to show otherwise. Both men throw bombs upon the restart. Pereira gets the fight the ground. He landing some decent left hands. Reese scrambles. Michel Pereira grabs his neck but then lets go. Zachary Reese is back to his feet. He comes forward with a 1-2. Pereira responds with a jab. A flying kick from Reese. The horn sounds to end round one.

Round two of this middleweight contest begins and Michel Pereira lands a pair of big knees to the body to start. A nice punch over the top also connects. Zachary Reese looks to return fire but ends up poking the eye of his opponent. Yet another break in the action. Yeesh. We restart and Reese secures a takedown. Pereira scrambles and gets back to his feet. A nice left hand from Michel. Reese is bloodied up. ‘Demolidor’ attacks the body with a kick. Reese spins and misses with a back fist. Two minutes remain in the second round. A low kick and then one to the body by Zachary Reese. He lands a decent right over the top. Michel Pereira with a low kick and then a left hook that misses. Another body kick from Reese finds it mark. He attempts a high kick, but it is avoided by Pereira. A big right from Reese. ‘Demolidor’ with a front kick to the body. Reese answers with another body kick and then a knee. The horn sounds to end round two.

The third and final round of this UFC Houston middleweight contest begins and Zachary Reese lands another nice kick the body to start. Michel Pereira counters with a left hook. A good low kick from Reese. He appears to be the fresher fighter. A low kick from Reese. The fighters briefly clinch and Michel lands a knee to the body. Reese drops for a takedown but opts to deliver a knee and return to range. A nice right hand connects for Pereira. He lands a good left as Reese attempts a low kick. A head kick partially connects for Zachary. Under 3 minutes remain. Both men are swinging wild shots. Pereira with a good left. Reese with a big 1-2. A late knee lands for Michel and we will go to the judges’ scorecards for decision.
