Michael Page is officially a free agent. Page has been in Bellator since 2014, where he participated in his sixth pro fight. Since then, he has gone 17-2 in the promotion and is ranked second at welterweight. However, following his 26-second win over Goiti Yamauchi due to injury, Page revealed on The MMAHour that he is now a free agent and is set to explore his options.

On Thursday, Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) took to Twitter to announce Page has signed a one-fight deal to headline BKFC 27 on August 20 against Mike Perry. Page defeated Lima via split decision in the main event of Bellator 267 in what was a three-round welterweight fight. It was a close contest for as long as it was contested, but many fans and media felt that Lima did enough to take home the decision. In the end, the judges sided with Page via split decision, but it appears as though “MVP” is not satisfied with the result. Speaking to reporters following Bellator 267, Page called for a trilogy fight with Lima to settle the score. And better yet, Page is asking Bellator to book the fight for five rounds.

Prior to that, he beat Ross Houston by decision and knocked out Shinso Anzai, Gianni Melillo, and Richard Kiely. His first career loss came in the second round of the welterweight grand prix as he suffered a brutal KO loss to Lima back at Bellator 221 in May of 2019. In his career, the fan-favorite holds notable wins over Paul Daley, David Rickels, and Charlie Ontiveros. Page is also the second-ranked welterweight.

Bellator president Scott Coker confirmed that welterweight star Michael Page could be next in line to get a title shot at 170lbs. Page knocked out Derek Anderson in highlight-reel fashion at Bellator 258 this past Friday night, and overall he has won his last five fights in a row, with four of those wins coming by way of knockout. Bellator welterweight champion Douglas Lima is currently set to fight No. 1 contender Yaroslav Amosov, but Page has been vocal about wanting to fight the winner.
