Henry Cejudo took a shot at rival TJ Dillashaw on the two-year anniversary of the night he knocked him out at UFC on ESPN+ 1. It was at UFC on ESPN+ 1 on January 19, 2019, when Dillashaw dropped down to 125lbs in order to win a second UFC title. At the time, he was the UFC bantamweight champion and Cejudo was the UFC flyweight champion, fresh off of an upset win over Demetrious Johnson. That night, Cejudo didn’t even need a minute to finish Dillashaw, stopping him in just 32 seconds via TKO.

Figueiredo has not fought since December, when he defended the flyweight strap in a thrilling draw against Brandon Moreno. While UFC President Dana White has stated he intends to book a rematch between Figueiredo and Moreno, the champ is fixated on a fight with Cejudo, who previously ruled over the flyweight and bantamweight divisions—and he wants to do it at 135 pounds.

Cejudo was, of course, both the UFC flyweight and bantamweight champion before deciding to give up both titles and walking away from the sport. Cejudo retired last May following a TKO win over Dominick Cruz at UFC 249, though he has teased a return to the Octagon in the months since. Not long after Cejudo retired, Figueiredo won the vacant flyweight title over Joseph Benavidez. Since then, Figueiredo has become a bigger name in the sport and he’s tried to coax Cejudo out of retirement.

He also had another win over Benavidez earlier in the year, plus a successful title defense over Alex Perez at UFC 255. Figueiredo then stole the show along with fellow flyweight contender Brandon Moreno when they two put on one of the best fights of the year when they fought to a draw at UFC 256.

Even though Cejudo is retired from MMA, it hasn’t stopped him from going after Volkanovski, in his hopes of luring the 145lbs champ into the fight that can help him achieve his goal of winning three UFC titles. Former UFC champion Henry Cejudo took a shot at boxer Ryan Garcia, telling the vacant WBC interim lightweight champion to “shine my shoes.” Garcia scored a brutal seventh-round TKO victory over Campbell on Saturday during a highly-anticipated battle between the two lightweights. Campbell was able to score a knockdown in the second round of the fight but Garcia was able to survive it and hold on. In the seventh round, Garcia landed a nasty liver punch that left Campbell unable to continue, declaring him the winner.
