Cruz (23-3 MMA), who is set to return to the Octagon at UFC 269 against Pedro Munhoz (19-6 MMA), took a shot at his broadcast partner in Cormier during today’s media day session.

Throughout his time as a commentator, Cormier has been accused of being biased but now the former bantamweight champ says he doesn’t do his homework and just gets in and out to make his money.

UFC bantamweight champion Petr Yan had MMA analyst Daniel Cormier in tears with his interpretation of divisional rival TJ Dillashaw. Yan was on Fight Island last month to fight Cory Sandhagen for the interim UFC bantamweight title. Ahead of the fight, Yan met with members of the UFC broadcast team including play-by-play announcer Jon Anik and color commentator Cormier. There are plenty of fighters in mixed martial arts who are sharp with their hands, but if you ask Cormier, there is one fighter who stands out above the rest when it comes to boxing.

UFC analyst Daniel Cormier blasted Henry Cejudo for training with Jon Jones, and “Bones” has responded to the criticism of his former rival. Jones was recently kicked out of Team Jackson-Wink following an alleged domestic battery incident at a hotel in Las Vegas following his Hall of Fame induction ceremony back in September ahead of UFC 266. With Jones no longer part of the team, at least until he cleans his act up, he has admitted that he is now looking into other gyms to potentially join, and one of those options appears to be Fight Ready. This past week, photos emerged of Jones training at the camp alongside the former UFC champion Cejudo and alongside UFC middleweight Eryk Anders as he looked to be enjoying Fight Ready. However, while Jones might like the move, there are others who do not like it.

Former two-division UFC champion Daniel Cormier fired back against accusations of him having bias while working in the UFC commentary booth. Cormier was publicly criticized by Justin Gaethje recently for being biased during his call of the recent Islam Makhachev vs. Dan Hooker fight. Speaking on the Debate DC on Vover podcast, Cormier responded to the recent criticisms towards his calls inside the booth. As far as the former UFC champion is concerned, he thinks the notion of him being biased is ridiculous and he doesn’t agree with it.

UFC lightweight Justin Gaethje explained why he has issues with the “incredibly biased” UFC commentator Daniel Cormier. Gaethje took to social media last Saturday during the main event of UFC 267 to vent his frustrations with Cormier, who was providing color commentary for the UFC in Abu Dhabi. As far as Gaethje goes, Cormier was biased with his commentary during the Islam Makhachev vs. Dan Hooker fight, and “The Highlight” made sure to let DC know that’s how he felt about him as he took to his Twitter to talk some smack to the former UFC champion.

UFC commentator Daniel Cormier suggested that emerging welterweight contender Khamzat Chimaev fight against Gilbert Burns next. Chimaev absolutely destroyed Li Jingliang on the UFC 267 main card in what was by far the most impressive performance of his career. He is now a perfect 4-0 in the Octagon and there are some who believe that Chimaev should be fast-tracked towards a title shot. However, it seems likely that he will have to fight at least one more time before the UFC gives him the shot at the UFC welterweight title. The promotion is reportedly looking into the possibility of a fight against Nate Diaz, but so far, nothing has been made official.

Daniel Cormier and Justin Gaethje were involved in a heated exchange on Twitter after ‘DC’ suggested Islam Makhachev should get a title fight. Makhachev (21-1 MMA) returned to action on today’s UFC 267 main card for a lightweight bout with perennial division contender Dan Hooker (21-11 MMA).

During a recent Reddit ‘Ask Me Anything’ session with his ESPN co-host Ryan Clark, ‘DC’ was questioned if he thought ‘Bones’ had a realistic chance of defeating either of the reigning UFC heavyweight champions in Ciryl Gane and Francis Ngannou.

UFC color commentator Daniel Cormier believes that heavyweight MMA legend Fedor Emelianenko would have been “average at best” in the UFC. At one point in time just over a decade ago, there was a legitimate chance that Emelianenko would sign with the UFC. However, it didn’t end up happening, and it never did in the years since then. As far as Cormier goes, that’s all good because having Emelianenko fight in the UFC wouldn’t have changed anything. Speaking on the Debate DC show, the former UFC champ says Emelianenko would have struggled in the UFC.

At the end of September, Jones was charged and arrested with domestic violence among other things, which was disappointing news to many. He has since opened up on the case, but for Cormier, he worries about what all this will do to his kids.
